Naturally, being the chosen one is a lot of pressure, and Kang is diligent with himself about not letting any of that crushing responsibility or prestige to get to his head, he's still human after all.

But getting called "pretty boy" is enough to make him choke on his drink. "Excuse me?" he coughs, "Was just saying you seemed tense, pretty boy" she hums. "I suppose I have been" he exhales, she steps closer, pulling soft knuckles to stroke his cheek so intimately that he whimpers. "I could take care of you if you like?" she whispers. Pupils blown and chest heaving, he looks at her, and without words, she knows his answer.

Takeda Takahashi

With the amount of mommy AND daddy issues swimming around in Takeda's head, calling him a "pretty boy" would have him ready to drop to his knees and start barking if you so wished.

He may also entirely miss what was said if a particularly voluptuous pair of breasts are involved, being far too distracted to meet your gaze. Kuai Liang (Sub Zero)

You don't have any fighting experience? Okay, no, that's fine... It's just that Liang doesn't really initiate conversations outside of kombat, so don't be surprised if all you get is a polite nod from him.

However, if you start the conversation, he'll feel obligated to respond. But because you're so nice, he finds that it's actually quite easy to talk to you.

Hanzo Hasashi (Scorpion)

He thinks it's nice. He also can't imagine the amount of time you must have on your hands if you aren't regularly beating the shit out of people.

Chatting with you has reminded him of how important it was for his healing journey to step away from kombat and embrace the simple things that made him human, and that he should do better to avoid violence in the future.

Raiden

You're not a fighter? Great, however, Raiden is like super busy trying to save Earthrealm so if you don't mind, he's got some stuff to be getting on with.

When he gets a moment of peace, he will be pleasantly surprised by how nice you are to him, considering that he's a scary storm god.

Fujin

Being in the Special Forces undoubtedly had some downsides for Cassie. Was every terrorist organisation gunning for her and her family? Yes. Did she give a shit? Of course not. Cassie can't imagine there would be anybody alive stupid enough to do something like shoot her girlfriend...

So when a sniper plants one on you, Cassie is beyond outraged. The fact that you got shot in front of her, clearly someone wanted Cassie's attention and they have it now. You'll be left in the capable hands of the Special Forces medics while Cassie goes on a violent hunt for the stupid mother fucker who thought they could shoot you and get away with it.

Erron Black

Erron was a man who had trouble getting over his past, but some parts of being a gun-slinging vigilante had its benefits. For example, Erron can instantly recognise the distinct sound of cordite made by a firing gun. But it wasn't what he'd call polite conversation for the little roadside diner you'd both found yourselves in.

What he doesn't recognise is a sudden momentum knocking over his hat and the fabric and flesh tearing from your bicep in a clean line as you gasp in pain. Erron yanks you to the ground, beyond further harm, and shields your body with his own until you were certain the would-be sniper had left. Frankly, you had gotten off lucky with just a scrape, Erron has seen a properly handled sniper rifle take a man's head off from several miles away. He picks you up as he stands, and drops a few hundred dollars into the tip jar of the diner that was now missing a window. You smile apologetically at the bedraggled waitress as you make your way outside, secure in the knowledge that you and Erron have a new mission.

Johnny Cage

All his life, Johnny had worried about big windows overlooking mountains. All his life, people called him paranoid. So naturally, when you book a date in a fancy restaurant in the Swiss Alps, Johnny will be on edge. No matter how many drinks he has, he can't seem to swallow that anxiety.

When a red dot starts to hover over your forehead, Johnny's sure he must be having some kind of stress-induced hallucination. But he's also had a lot of wine, so fuck it, Johnny launches himself over the table, pulling you to the floor with him alongside a clattering of cutlery and plates. Your unimpressed glare tells Johnny that he's about to get an earful until the tall window beside you both shatters into pieces. A stunned silence falls over you and the restaurant patrons as you realise what's happened. Meanwhile, Johnny is having the time of his life, for once his paranoia has paid off! He'll also continually bring this up for at least five years.

Kitana

It happened so quickly, she almost didn't notice it. All the warning she got was a distant bang and suddenly there was a deceptively small, round hole in your shoulder, the blood spewing out as you collapse onto the floor.

In a fit of panic, Kitana rushes for you, rolling you over to put pressure on the wound. Tears pour from her eyes as she searches for life in yours. By the time healers come, you'd managed to keep focused on Kitana's face above you. The princess was distraught, not just at your injury, but the fact that she never knew that Earthrealm weapons were capable of such attacks.

He's mildly annoyed by your vanishing act, as a god, he feels like he shouldn't have to wander around looking for you.

Although he finds that he never has to look for long, you're always nearby, sometimes practically bouncing off the walls.

Shang Tsung

Sighs in resignation when he realises that you were no longer beside him. "Well," he mumbles "this won't do at all.".

He'll leisurely stroll about, knowing that your hyperactive tendencies mean you won't get far before being distracted. When he sees you absorbed in a skill game of some kind, he hides a little smile at how cute you are.

Kenshi

Being psychic gives him a rough idea of when you leave, but if he's in the middle of something then you might still catch him by surprise.

Thankfully, being hyper means he can detect your thoughts more easily from a distance, so he never has much trouble searching for you later.

Fujin

Would be the most alarmed when he suddenly notices that you were gone, and might stand there for a moment calling your name.

When he finds you nearby, he'll pull you into a massive hug. He's so happy that you're okay, but please don't scare him like that anymore.

Fujin and Raiden React To Their Crush Saying "God Save Johnny Cage"

It was like any other day in the Sky Temple, or, as normal as the Sky Temple could be. In the last few weeks, you'd been setting up your friendly neighbourhood Shinto deities with some more modern Earthrealm technology, the latest edition being a TV. It was nothing fancy, an old Goodmans 1408 that you had lying around. The real challange was hooking it up to modern channels. After some percussive maintenance, you tune the CRT TV to a talk show featuring Johnny Cage. The storm brothers gathered behind you, enchanted by the flickering screen you had brought to life for them. The interview itself was relatively dull, with Johnny being asked about his latest movie or suspected liasions with other Hollywood actors. It was until the interviewer mentioned one of Johnny's costars, an actor who'd been publicly outed as transgender, and asked if Johnny could ever work with the 'dirty, immoral liar' again. The three of you watch as Johnny begins to shout at the interviewer, screaming that they had no right to say that about his costar. The arguement continues until Johnny punches the interviewer across the jaw, before turning to the camera crew and live audience to speak about the importance of trans rights. But he could only get a few words in before the program cuts off, with a 'We Are Experiencing Technical Difficulties' message. The storm Gods share a look while you nod your head proudly. "God save Johnny Cage." you mutter. You didn't have time to think about the nuances of what you had said in front of the two Gods, but decided that it was more amusing to let them come to their own conclusions.

Fujin

Recently Fujin had been building up the courage to reveal his feelings towards you. He was sure of how he felt but painfully unsure of how to go about it. He had asked his brother, Raiden, who was little help. He had even asked other Earthrealmers, although he did his best to hide your identity as the object of his affections.

Fujin knew one thing, that if he couldn't tell you, then he absolutely couldn't tell any of your friends, what if they stepped in? What if they said something to you that gave you a bad opinion of him? What if someone stole your heart first?

There were far too many ways it could all go terribly wrong. And now he was even more confused. "God save Johnny Cage", what did those words mean? Well he knew what they meant, but why would you say them?

Fujin was a god, did you want him to save Johnny? If that were the case, Johnny didn't seem to be in any danger. If you really cared that much about Johnny, maybe it's time Fujin confessed his feelings for you before it's too late.

When the two of you are alone, Fujin will drop to his knee dramatically, "I vow to protect Johnny Cage for you, because since the day we met, I have loved you, and I will do all in my power to make you happy, even if you love another."

Fujin emotionally braces, expecting rejection, but instead hears your delighted squeals as you wrap your arms around him, saying how you love him too, pressing soft kisses to his cheek.

Raiden

For the last few months, Raiden had been delicately calculating how to best start a relationship with you. Part of that was navigating how you felt about others, and if he had any competition to worry about.

From what he had seen, your relationship with Johnny Cage was platonic at best. But Johnny was also more experienced in courting techniques and had succeeded in gaining many partners over his short, mortal lifetime.

Raiden's heart sinks at the idea that perhaps Cage's charm had reached you through the television, ensnaring you enough to make you say "God save Johnny Cage".

He knew the meaning behind that saying, he wasn't a complete fool. To ask a god to save someone was a verbal decleration of your devotion to someone, your pride in them, how you wish their lives to be long and happy.

Weren't all those things the sum of love? Those were certainly all the things Raiden wished for you. For you to suddenly feel this way towards Cage... The only explaination was the TV, clearly a cursed device that you must be protected from.

Que Raiden launching the TV over the nearest balcony when you aren't looking, if you ask where it went, Raiden will feign ignorance and instead invite you for a walk in the gardens, offering his arm for you to take.

Prepare to hear complaints that it's well under 0 celsius and that Erron is freezing his nuts off.

Refuses to let you shovel the snow "'Cause it's a man's job!" but mumbles frustratedly the entire time he does it, sliding and slipping about haphazardly.

Absolutely has like a month's worth of emergency provisions in the basement, so at the end of a long day of sub-par snow shoveling, he'll kick up his feet and dig into a heated can of beans.

Hanzo Hasashi (Scorpion)

Well, the good news is that you won't have to worry much about staying warm, Hanzo will rotate around the house, using his demon flames to insulate the rooms.

Will warm up the toilet seat for you when you complain about it being almost too cold to use.

He will learn to carefully balance his new role as your personal heater whilst also being a fire hazard. You'll have him just standing in the middle of the room while ignited so you can be toasty while napping.

Liu Kang

Out of everyone, he would do the best in a blackout, Kang has never relied on electricity or wifi to be entertained.

So long as the house isn't falling apart around you, Kang will help distract you with crafts and board games, you know, to stave off the inevitable cabin fever.

Thanks to the blizzard, Kang can now make good on his promise to teach you how to play mahjong just like his grandmother! (Grandma Liu took no fucking prisoners while playing mahjong).

Kung Lao

Will see the snow piling up outside and will smugly be like "Ha! Good thing we're inside where it's nice and warm!". Karma will demonstrate its impeccable sense of timing when the power goes out seconds later.

For the love of the Elder Gods do not let Lao touch anything, he will somehow make it worse.

Tried to break the ice in a frozen pipe by hitting it with a wrench, succeeding only in bursting the pipe and flooding a portion of the house with icy cold water.

In a moment of completely awkward social panic, he begins to laugh with you. He doesn't know why he's laughing, but right now you're laughing and he's scared.

His laughter is quite forced, and there's fear in his eyes that stays even after you calm down. Kabal desperately wants to say something, to offer a shoulder to cry on, but fuck, he has no idea what to do next.

Erron Black

He lets you start laughing at your own trauma for a few seconds before he loudly exclaims "Sugar. What the fuck?". His face is pulled into a disgusted frown and he sounds angry, but really he's just concerned.

If anything, he's disappointed that you've been allowed to trivialise what's happened to you for so long, it certainly wasn't no laughing matter.

Kuai Liang (Sub Zero)

He'll choke on his tea slightly when you laugh hysterically after telling the saddest story he's heard in a while. He'll consider signing you up for therapy, he's certain that finding your trauma funny isn't a healthy way to deal with it.

But if therapy is something you really don't want, he'll encourage you to open up about it more, with some comfort food or maybe some wine to help ease your feelings out.

Hanzo Hasashi (Scorpion)

When you start laughing after trauma dumping, he'll sit you down aggressively and make you look into his eyes so you can see just how deadly serious he is.

You better believe you two are gonna unpack what happened, no matter how much you don't want to. Hanzo is convinced that you've learnt to suppress your trauma by laughing at it, and have never taken the time to fully process what happened to you. You deserve to grieve, you deserve closure, and he'll make sure you get it.
