I had a lot of fun at my home con, Naka-Kon, and as I relax with more anime I got to thinking.. Why do I stress myself out to sew my cosplays?
I really don't enjoy sewing. I like embroider, because it's something my whole family knows. And, yes, sewing is something that was handed down in my family. But, I don't really like to do it. Especially for something that needs to be in public. Maybe my mind will change when I'm on my own and not having to deal with outside distractions.. But, I realize when it come to cosplay, I prefer to style wigs and work on props.
Two things I don't really do often because I panic easy.
I may go back to buying my costumes or commissioning them. But I think I'm going to put more effort into making props and armor and things that don't require me to do more than some split stiches.
What about y'all? Is there a part of the cosplay process you really prefer to do? Makeup? Just wearing it, no work? Let us know!
I'm like 80% packed. Pretty sure I'm bringing way more makeup than I need for this convention but I'm also sure I'm not. 8/
Also it never fails. Getaway for a vacation or concert? One barely packed suit case. Convention? One suit case and a duffel bag and maybe a purse/backpack
Though I always like to pack extra clothes just in case I get tired of my cosplay or I just wanna feel fresh. Is anyone gonna be at Naka-kon? I hope to spot some of your amazing cosplays if you are! I'm only bringing one this year but I think that's enough considering the crud that's been going on lately..
I forget how fast time goes by. Here I am, checking my schedule so I know when I could work on wigs.. And I freak out seeing almost a week of no work hours!!
And then I remembered that's the week of Naka-kon and I had asked for it all off to have a dang vacation. Has anyone else had moments like that??
Yoooo... It's the same number as my birth year. That's wild!! So close to the big 2k, I might do something for it (for realz this time yo). Suggestions maybe? A tutorial by yours truly or perhaps a shout out??
