He had a sneaking suspicion that it wasn’t only she who was curious about some of his story from last night; Mal was quietly getting his own breakfast in the galley and taking his sweet time about it. But Mal wasn’t the kind of man who would ask unless it affected the people around him. Zoe, it seemed, had given herself the leeway of curiosity.

Firefly!AU that involves Sherlock and John. John's medical staff for a new program for the gifted- and one of its inmates needs out. It's the same program that ruined River, only Sherlock was part of its pilot program fifteen years ago. John got him out. It's an impressive intertwining of the two universes, and manages to stay in character. It's a quick, heartstring pulling read, and I really enjoyed it.
