The city of Yesteryear....
He was in the thick of it, a rudimentary bag in tow. Byron had hopes that the reptiles he could find here would have more potent venoms than their city siblings.
Yes, having near to none of his usual tools for precision and protection, mixed with the possibility of animals more likely to kill him wasn’t the best combination, but sacrifices had to be made. And a gambler had to bet big to win big.
Additionally the quiet of the place was nice. Having to share space with others was abhorrent, and he didn’t have much room for a well accommodated bedroom and a finely set up lab. Making him feel that much more like he was on a crowded train at all times.
He was glad to be alone, noting how silly he might look to someone if they saw him crawling about on his hands and knees, inching slowly so as not to scare off any potential reptiles.
