Well, I’ve been on vacation this week and have managed to get some things done around the house. I ordered 2 new monitors for my computer. They should arrive tomorrow and one thing that has always bothered me about my setup was that I didn’t really have an actual monitor stand.
So today I built one.
Went to my local hardware/lumber store and picked up a piece of MDF, had it cut to 3′, then cut up a dowel to use as legs for the stand. I cut out 5 legs, sanded them, then painted them copper.
I used some antique screws I had to screw the legs into the stand. It’s pretty simple, but it’s a lot nicer than what I had before (monitors stacked on plastic boxes) :)
Update: The new monitors came today as well as my new mouse and camera. Very happy with the monitors and mouse (last picture). The camera left something to be desired... the images are all blurry and noisy... I assumed since it’s 8 years newer than my current camera, it’d be better, even as an entry-level point & shoot... seems like I was wrong there. Might return it for a different one.
Stay tuned for more randomness!
