“wait.” he called out at the only person around in that moment. it wasn’t that unusual for lukas to be there, honestly the only other two places he spent more time at were julian’s apartment and the institute, but again he wasn’t that sure about the institute. “before i end up checking the whole compound, can you tell me where i can find leo?”  @quillwallace

“ are we getting started with that silly conversation again? ” leo asked, rolling his eyes. though it was just a defense mechanism of his. he knew he’d never understand, he knew he had done more damage than good by sending him away because he wanted him to be more tamed, because he ( and caelan ) couldn’t deal with managing the whole family at that time, when he was younger. but of course, he couldn’t tell how he felt now, it was too late, so he did what he was best at; lie. “ because i’ll start to pretend to listen if that’s the case. ”

“ did you ever cross my mind? ” he repeated, gaze fixed ahead of them as the two brothers stood in the main balcony of the family compound, the night stars above them. with his gaze lowered a bit towards the people walking in the distance, he spoke quietly. “ you have always been on my mind, quill. ” maybe it was unlikely of him to be this honest with the youngest wallace but things have been changing for the demon-blooded, too. “ you’re a fool if you believe i never thought of you for all those years. ”

“you left me!”

“ i had no choice ! ” leo shouted back, turning around to look at the youngest of the clan with guilt, remorse and anger in his eyes. “ i had no choice, quill. you were getting out of control and i didn’t know what to do. i was lost as much as you were. here i admit -- i couldn’t handle you. i couldn’t help and take care of my own brother. ” he said, voice growing quiet towards the end. “ and it’s a burden i’ll live with till my dying breath. ”

“don’t forget me.”

“ don’t go. ” leo said, voice quiet but firm. feeling quill slowly turn around to face him, the shadowhunter raised his gaze to meet his, a slightly pleading look on his face. “ i need you by my side, brother. ” he admitted, taking a few steps closer. “ for years you’ve been away, because of me, and don’t you ever think i enjoyed it for a second. but now you don’t have to. ” placing his hands on the younger one’s shoulders, leo looked at his face. “ stay, quill. we all need you more than you know. we need our brother - and i’ll do anything in my power to be the big brother to you that you always deserved. ”

“i’ve never felt so alone.”

leo was quiet as his younger brother spoke, his words cutting at his skin like knives. alone. he knew that so well, unfortunately. and maybe, his kind of alone was worse than quill’s; being alone while surrounded by a lot of people. but that didn’t change the fact that what he made quill go through was a horrible thing, and that he hated himself for that. he wished he was better, he wished he could fix everything but he knew he couldn’t. so without daring to meet his eyes, leo, put a hand on his shoulder, giving a gentle squeeze. “ you’re not alone. not anymore. ”

who is more excited for halloween? they are both five year olds so, probably both?

who gives the best gifts? quill. have you seen him covering her apartment in daisies or the cute bracelet she’s wearing?? 

who sings along to the radio the loudest? elena hands down. at least she’s got a good voice tho.

who actually finishes a book they’ve started? quill, just because he loves to know everything and i feel like he’d die if he left a book unread so he wouldn’t know the ending.

who falls asleep during a movie? ELENA. especially if they’re cuddling and he’s caressing her hair. she’d fall asleep so damn fast.

who plans a surprise getaway vacation? quill. he appears at the door like “pack up, darling, we’re going on a cruise!!”

who comes home with useless decorative knick knacks for the house every single day? QUILL. and as long as they’re at least pretty elena doesn’t mind it, one more memory to collect.

who takes more pictures? elena, because she loves collecting memories and his face. so those combined, she takes more pictures.

who likes baths? who likes showers? both like both as long as they’re together? lmAO but elena likes baths, i feel like quill is more of a shower guy.

who keeps a weekly planner? elena, both for herself and quill because quill doesn’t know where his left sock is right now.

who actually watches the discovery channel? they watch discovery id together bc they’re both nerds who love to watch crime shows.

who brings up having kids first? .........i feel like it’d happen as a surprise.

who fixes things around the house when they break? quill!! as clumsy as he is, he’s actually good with fixing stuff since it’s his hobby to break stuff in the first place. he’s pretty brilliant actually.

who leaves their dirty towels on the floor? quill, and elena throws them at his head every single time.

who makes the coffee in the morning? elena, the first thing she does in the morning is to make coffee.

who gets jealous over very petty things? i feel like both. “why did you smile at the waitress like that??” “i...... did not.....” -- “so you call luca prince charming huh??” “quill for raziEL’S SAKE”

who exercises more? probably quill and lbr elena watches him train. *eye emoji*

who starts listening to christmas music in october? UMM DID YOU SAY ELENA BROOKS?

who actually reads the newspaper? probably quill, elena doesn’t have the patience for that.

        she’s exhausted, though it’s practically impossible for most to tell. on the outside she’s fine - no tears, no frown, no clear sign of just how far she’s fallen. as she knocks on the door she attempts to steel herself, yet the moment he pulls it open and she catches sight of her own twin brother thea’s heart is in her throat and it’s all she can do not to to burst into tears. “uh, hey. so poppy wanted to say goodbye before she left, but i think she’s wrapped herself around your wife at the moment.”
