Pink Barbie themed cake :)

This is a CUTE cake! LOVE it! it is only a little 6" chocolate cake with choc ganache - but visually looks awesome, with two tones of pink, black & of course bows - you really get the barbie vibe :)  I was sad to see this cake go! but Nessie loved it! so YAY!! kez* x

Quilted Wedding Cake

This cake was the biggest single tier cake I have ever worked with.  It's a 10" cake - nearly 8" tall - white chocolate mud cake with nearly 3kgs of white chocolate ganache.  In total the cake weighed 7.8kgs! super heavy cake! and somehow I managed to flip this cake, twice!   For those who don't know, I flip my cakes upside down to ganache them and also once they are covered in fondant I flip them to get those razor sharp edges you'd be getting used to seeing on my cakes! :)    I was so nervous I would drop it because it was so freaking heavy! fortunately it went well!! It took me 3 attempts to cover the cake in fondant - one of those I tried panelling but it just wasn't working for me.  So my 4th attempt I got it done, the standard way.  So pleased with how it turned out.  The photo's right at the top are from the photographer at the venue with the fresh flowers on top :)  kez* x

I love this cake. It’s gorgeous. I’m proud of it! It’s a chocolate cake with whipped chocolate ganache filling and chocolate buttercream. The roses are handmade from fondant and the pearls are edible

A Favorite Tool of Mine....

The diamond quilting tool!  

This little tool can save you so much time and trouble.  It's the tool that we use to make that beautiful quilted look on fondant, and it really is easy to use!  You need to use a tad bit of pressure to make your indentation.  Make sure to work on a level surface and take your time when lining up each row to make your diamond patterns.

  It can work on buttercream as well!  Allow some time for your buttercream to dry a bit before attempting and make sure to wipe down your quilter frequently.  Adding dragees draws more attention to this impressive pattern!
