Euro 12 Semi - Final Portugal vs Spain

Let me give my take now after a day to chill out... First and foremost I am so incredibly proud of this Quinas squad at it's overall performance. In the first half of yesterday's match we put on an absolute clinic against the Spaniards ( wh...o keep in mind if they win Sunday - are undeniably the greatest National squad of all time). I don't think I'd ever admit this - but we missed Postiga and all of his movement and runs in the first half. Almeida was great for 30 mins in the second but it took him a half to get in a rhythm. In the first we were closing them down in the midfield and played them the way I have seen no other team play them before. Unfortunately all of that hard work had us exhausted by extra time - and we were left chasing all those damn Spanish little touches. The shoot out is pure luck as always - and we've gotten the luck the last few times(why couldn't it be England in pk's for a spot in the final :). Spain had both their center halves taking kicks (Piqué/Ramos) and they buried 'em. As far as CR7 is concerned - no way he is going first 3 cause he's missed his last 2 (w/ Madrid semi's CL & Turkey in the last friendly) plus he trains w/ Casillas every day. Not to mention- if Alves is 2 inches lower he goes upper V. Then, If Fabregas is 2 inches wider his shot goes off the post away. That would have left CR7 to bury them w/ the # 5 kick. Just like he did when we buried England the last time we were in pk's in WC2006. We weren't upset then were we? Overall - Just completely unlucky. I support Paulo Bento completely now, he proved w/ his patience and tactics that his system works - and we played the most attractive futbol w/ counter attacking excellence that I have ever seen our team play since I've been watching our games - going back to when u had to go to Shaspeare Pub and pay $5 to watch in Euro96. I have never been more proud to be a Quinas supporter. Looking forward to WC2014 qualifying. Russia in our group - the rest we should handle easily. Be proud Portugal supporters. We need to hold our heads high and accept the fact we were really unlucky. Vamos Portugal!!! #WC2014Brazil
