I totally understand feeling overwhelmed by everything going on and seeing so much violence on every platform and so on and so forth and wanting to take a break and get away from it for a minute. And I think that is a totally valid way to feel and have been feeling it myself, but if I see another motherfucker complain about seeing people giving a shit about black lives I am going to lose my goddamn mind. If you need a break from everything, go read a fucking book! draw something, bake something, watch reruns of a show, watch an old stream you love, but for god’s sake shut your fucking mouth if you are complaining that ‘oh i can’t go to any site without seeing stuff about these riots!,’ ‘i can’t even look at twitter because everyone is talking about BLM’
YEAH. AND THAT’S GREAT. We might actually see a positive change because of how incredibly infectious this movement has become. I honestly thought, like, days ago that this was going to be another case like Michael Brown’s or Trayvon Martin’s. I felt like this was going to be another totally hopeless cry for help and equality. But this has taken off more than I ever thought I’d see in my lifetime, and I can only hope that something good comes from it this time and we don’t all forget about it in a year like what’s always happened before.
But seriously, if you need a break, log off. That’s on you, not on everyone fighting for revolution.
