Classification: Dinosauria, Saurischia, Theropoda, Neotheropoda, Averostra, Tetanurae, Orionides, Avetheropoda, Coelurosauria, Tyrannoraptora, Tyrannosauroidea, Megaraptora

Rapator is another megaraptor from Australia, found in the Griman Creek Formation of New South Wales. It was about nine meters long but it is only known from a finger bone. It lived in the Aptian stage of the Early Cretaceous, about 105 million years ago. The name is actually thought to be a wrong spelling of the word raptor. Its finger is very similar to that of Ornitholestes, prompting its specific name. After the discovery of Astralovenator, it was classified as a meagaraptoran, and since the two are so similar it was briefly a dubious genus. However, enough differences have been found between the two, and they are separated both by time and by location, making them unlikely to be the same. More material should be found, however, before any more statements about the genus can be made.

Flowers

A drabble for my dearest Cricket, featuring her adorable OC Rigel and a certain chatty metal bison.

"Okay, gonna start on this big one now. Keep going, I'm listening." Tiny digits tuck and weave the blooms together, and he's utterly amazed by how well Rigel is able to put his money where his mouth is. Though not as comparatively small as a human, his clever fingers are able to shape the flowers the way Cliff's own blunt hands only dream of moving. Must have picked up the talent from one parent in particular.

"Right, right. Where were we, before or after the explosion? After? Right, so, the place went sky high in this huge ball of fire... Me and my fellas were gone long before the blast, so the 'Cons didn't stand a chance in catching us."

"You weren't seen at all? That's some stupid awesome luck."

"Kiddo, my whole life consists of stupid awesome luck!" Cliff jarrs his leg, and the child sitting on his knee yelps and holds onto his flowers, wobbling. Bright optics glare at him from under a line of blood red poppies.

"Careful, or you're not gonna get one! So, what happened next?"

"We ran! No sense in driving on a jungle planet, so we let our legs do the work. Eventually someone suggests that we take to the trees in case anyone really was following us, and so we could get a rescue signal out better. Huge things, these trees were! They put the little shrubs on this planet to shame. All of us were able to scale this gigantic woody thing with blue leaves... It was like climbing a hill!"

Rigel frowns. "Blue leaves? You're messing with me."

"I am most certainly not! Blue leaves, and the bark was yellow! Climbing up just one branch was like walking down a wide boulevard on Cybertron. At the canopy, near the tippy top, were some branches that were the right size to camp out on until our pick-up came. But it looked like we'd have to stay the night, since the closest ship was at least an entire system away.

"We were all running on low power when night started closing in. Those of us with biolights backed up against the big leaves to hide the glow. Though now I'm sure we were too high up for anything, or anyone, to see us from the ground. Strange noises started coming out of the jungle; night beasts beginning to make their rounds." He stops for a dramatic pause, picking soil out from between two red thigh plates. Rigel is wriggling impatiently on his lap but doesn't say anything.

"Then the light went out entirely. It's a strange thing, being in complete darkness. Living on Cybertron, even if you're a plains roamer, you get used to the light and the noise of the cities. We all sat up on that branch, huddled together. Dunno how much time passed. It seemed like vorns and vorns. But suddenly there was a scrabbling noise, coming from one side of the branch. One of the crew had been sitting too close to the edge and lost his footing in the dark. We all backed away thinking he was some kind of predator coming to get us, until he started swearing at us to help him back up. In all the confusion someone must have pushed a leaf back or something. Because as soon as the fella was hoisted back up, the whole damn branch was bathed in light. But not light coming from any ship or building.

"It was the stars. The light pollution from the facility was keeping us from seeing them before, but now... Damn. I don't kid you when I say you could see every planet, every system mapped up there like that, with your bare optics. Whole galaxies and nebulas swirled across the black sky. Seemed like you could just reach up and.... And run your fingers through it. Yanno?" Emphasizing, Cliffjumper lifts his arms and sweeps his hand over the empty prairie and Earth's horizon, which is beginning to turn rosy and dim in the coming twilight.

Little Rigel is silent for a long moment, looking out towards where his friend is gesturing. "...Do you think I'll ever get to see them? Other worlds, like you have?"

"We are a long lived bunch, kiddo. I guarantee it." Rigel smiles almost meekly, mind seeming to reel with the prospect of galaxies and stars and the cosmos. He leans down and keeps at his work, until he holds up an intricate rope of tiny blue wildflowers and white daisies.

"Got it! Here, lean down so I can get it around your stupid fat head."

Cliff laughs and does what he's told, careful to not jab the youngling with his horns. The crown is pulled around the back of his head, then attached at the front by a few more colorful blooms. When Rigel gives the okay he sits back up, olfactory sensors picking up the fragrant, fecund scent of the flowers around his brow. He reaches out to gently poke Rigel's own flower crown back on top of his head.

"Well... How do I look?"

"Flowery. And awesome."
