tell me we’re doing the right thing.”
“Raven, if we were doing the right thing, we wouldn’t be sneaking around dusting Team ETHR’s underwear with itching powder…” Qrow grinned boyishly, eager for some mischief.

“I-I mean...T-Team SAFE is pretty okay, Angelica and Silvanna just need help with math is all! Th-They don’t sound like they want much more besides tutoring!”

Taiyang was taking some ‘him’ time at this quaint little restaurant in Patch. It had some bad and good memories tied to it, but all the same, the food was good.
Then... he saw her.
Right by the candlelight. Almost too fittingly. His hand made an audible thud on the table, causing the silverware to jump while his free hand rubbed his eyes.
“You’re losing it, Taiyang. C’mon. Not today.”

They let him out on his own today. Not that he could get very far still being confined to a wheelchair, but the doctors were finally willing to let Qrow leave the sanctuary of his room. Granted, he still had to work through the massive spike of anxiety that plagued him the second he crossed the threshold.
Until only a little while ago, Freedom was an illusive concept. One he’d nearly completely forgotten. After the Doctors declared him fit enough, they’d transferred him to a hospital in Vale with a shipment of other sick and injured Huntsmen.
After a week to settle in, they finally gave him a wheelchair. And now, while limited, he was able to move about without much restraint. Provided he’d stayed on hospital grounds.
Qrow exhaled softly, feeling a weight on his chest lift when he’d finally made it down stairs to the gardens. A small arboretum in the middle of the hospital for patients, nurses and visitors to congregate. He wheeled himself to his usual spot in the tree’s shade, letting his eyes slide closed as her enjoy the warmth and gentle breeze.
When he heard footsteps crunch on the grass, he flinched and whipped around to see the source only to will himself to calm down once more.
“Hey,” Qrow greeted roughly, unsure what else to say.

He wasn’t sure if it was a good thing or not that the woman immediately assumed he was a threat - at least, that’s what he judged from her posture and the tone of her voice. Muninn offered his hands in peace.
“I’m not here to cause trouble Ma’am, I promise.” It was amazing, he’d wasted hours carefully devising a script of what to say, how to introduce himself and for anything in between. But the reality that Muninn was in this situation right now left his mind completely blank.
He cleared his throat. “I’m just going to be frank then - as I said before, my name is Muninn. I’m the brother of their birth father. I was... only very recently made aware of their situation - my brother’s death. And I’m... for lack of a better word, checking up on them.”
He gave a strained awkward chuckle. “Admittedly, they probably wouldn’t recognise me. I haven’t been able to see them since they were toddlers.”
Okay so I’m watching a show and Tai’s FC is in it and he’s going through an intervention and I just thought the conversation worked.
Tai: Oh man, you must be getting a real kick outta this, huh. Summer Rose. Summer Rose, the savior. I mean, where would any of us be without the great Summer Rose? Qrow: Listen Tai, don’t take this personally, alright? Tai: No, you know what, I’m not going to listen to you ‘cause you’re a drunk, so... Raven: Okay, this isn’t about him Tai: Well maybe it should be about him! I mean, he’s the one whose family won’t even talk to him! I can get my mom on the phone! Qrow: I’m not going to listen to this bullshit, Tai. Tai: See, I’m not the one with a problem here! So, if we really wanna talk, we can talk. Summer: You know what the problem is, Tai? The problem is that no one in this room is perfect. Tai: No, nobody’s perfect, like you. How many murders have you covered up at this point? There’s Cal, Lapis...Oh. And your baby. You lost your baby. James: Taiyang, shut up, that’s enough! Tai: Okay, I don’t think that’s enough, so I’m just going to keep going... Raven: There is a clinic out in Vale-- Tai: You know what?! You DON’T get to talk to me! Unless you wanna talk about why I started using in the first place! Summer: Tai- Tai: Because I don’t think that’s gonna go over too well!
@quoth-the-branwen
“Ah-hahaha.” Qrow roared with laughter after reading the letter, tears teasing at the edge of his eyes. With an calming breath he managed to stop.
“Fuck no.”

Eryr smirked down at her girl, rolling her eyes in a good-natured manner. She reached down and took Raven into her arms, resting her daughter on her hip. Her red eyes glanced down at Qrow, who had woken and looked up at her with big pleading eyes.
“You want a lift too, don’t you little man?”
“Maybe?” The little boy said, shuffling a little closer while having the decency to not look like he wanted a lift himself.
“I spoil you two, I swear.’ Eryr sighed dramatically and gathered her son up too, balancing both children in her arms as she made her way downstairs to the kitchen. “Your father’s made a batch of pancakes. Knowing you two, you’ll be drenched head to toe in maple syrup before you’ve finished.“
Qrow giggled shamelessly, burying his face in his mother’s neck and Eryr shook her head. “Little hell-raisers, the pair of you.”
