this is probably such a dumb thing to be annoyed about, but there's a local writers' group I joined about 6 months ago that's purpose is to bring writers together to hold each other accountable, offer constructive criticism, and help each other improve.

I'll admit, I have been receiving some helpful feedback yet much more that is unhelpful. I have also given some very thoughtful feedback/suggestions along with explanations to others. the thing that is annoying me currently is that one particular writer has taken literally not a word of my advice, so really wtf even is the point? it's not even like grammar stuff or style; it's structure and formatting and not doing things that are redundant. so, yeah, that's what I'm annoyed about. now I don't even want to take the time to leave feedback for that person. I mean, to be fair, last time they tried to tell me I didn't need a comma and said not much else about my submission. super fucking helpful lemme tell ya.

nah, man, it’s cool. I committed to writing one more fic after Pride and the City, so I’ll write that. but the new year begins with me joining a local writers’ group and also going to grad school for writing and to teach it at a college level. writing for the glee fandom has always been difficult for me, and, yeah, very personal most of the time. and now it’s to a point where many (influential) people/blogs truly do not want anything to do with me or my writing (or art). so, it’s fine. I’m gonna go teach writing and get published. finally. ✌️

is there a reason people are only reading/leaving comments/kudos on some of the secret santa fics and not others? or sharing some of the art and not others? I mean, really, 26 people joined together to create and share some wonderful stuff to spread holiday cheer, and it makes me sad to see the same old fandom patterns affecting the event. :/

how come I need to keep telling myself “you’re allowed to be upset. someone did something shitty and tried to blame you, and you’re allowed to be upset”…I’m so fucking exhausted. It’s so silly and yet…I can’t figure out how to stop thinking about it. I read some good fic that helped take my mind off stuff for a bit, so thank you fic writers, you’re amazing. I hope y’all know that.

but now I’m sitting here again stewing and I hate it. I need to be doing something, but writing my fic will only make me feel worse right now.

Thank you for tagging me for Six Sentence Sunday, @forabeatofadrum. Unfortunately, I don’t have anything to share. Writing is just not happening right now, especially after some recent stuff that made me kinda not want to write at all. So…yeah. Hopefully I’ll have something for WIP Wednesday at least.

I am suffering. Hate hate going back through my writing and trying to choose something that embodies me and what I do to submit as a writing sample because there’s just so much to choose from. There are more than four sides to me, or something like that. I also hate that skimming through About-Face made me realize that it’s an absolutely addicting fic and I need to reread like now. If I start tonight, I may not sleep. Fuck me though.
