Dealing with the addition of a baby can be challenging, twins even more so. Luna has been struggling but luckily she has a wife and in-laws who understand and are happy to help.
TW Deals with postpartum depression
I would consider apologising for the length of this chapter but, Devin's not wrong when she claims to be my first favourite. Plus I'm still not over infants adorableness. Anyway quick part to finish with family visits and library trips.
Friday! After some playing with blocks the boys are moved to the lounge where they smile, coo and babble to each other. Once Devin and Luna are ready for the day, Devin checks in.
Devin: how are we bambinos
Rilian: coo la ba
Alfred: *giggles*

Devin: Don't worry caro, I know you don't like it but your brother might

Alfred takes a few seconds to process what just happened. Upon reflection he enjoyed it, and Devin gets both a smile and a giggle.

Another reason we're in Willow Creek is that Luna needs to use an archive machine at the library for work. Devin has brought the mats for the boys and they begin playing. Suddenly Alfred feels confident and pushes himself up on all fours. He has unlocked the creep milestone!
Luna cheers Alfred on while Devin plays with Rilian before putting him on the mat. Once put down he immediately has a crisis. He loves being held and mama put him down, in a strange place to boot. It's not fair! He does manage to compose himself and have some playtime though.
Back home Joey pops around for a visit while Devin works with Rilian on tummy time.

Alfred tucks in and smoshes his everywhere like normal. Rilian remains unsure.
Devin gets the boys to bed and Luna feels up to kissing them goodnight before heading to sleep herself. That's it for the Villareals at the moment, Devin is slowly gaining fame from her acting and Luna is working through her postpartum depression.
Luna has figured out why she's having trouble bonding with her sons. Luckily she has a wonderful wife whose constantly cheerful attitude can brighten the day. Her sons have definitely inherited Devin's drama skills.

In this part Devin and Luna work on not putting too much on Luna's plate, too bad the twins can't understand the assignment. The boys are dramatic (they're teething who can blame them) and Devin completes her first movie gig as the star actress.

Postpartum depression. The reason Luna has been feeling like an inadequate mother, had trouble bonding with her sons and gets easily upset when the boys get over emotional. No depression is solved overnight but knowing what is affecting her will help her and her family cope with the speedbump.

Rilian is awake first and annoyed Alfred is still sleeping. He spots the bigfoot toy and has a sulk about not reaching it.

Luna has a lecture she needs to prepare for so makes use of the hallway mirror. Meanwhile Devin puts both boys down in the lounge. They get themselves sleeping and she watches over their naps while knitting. Knitting helps focus her before heading to set.
Social media updates, check. Hair and make up, check. Costume, check. Practice lines till she's feeling confident AF, check. Devin is on set for Melodies of the City. It's her first movie gig and we're pretty excited about it. If she gets gold that will be her lifetime aspiration complete.

It is raining inside and Devin is freaked out about what it will do to her hair, until she remembers she's in a wig. She tries to ignore the water and launches into the first dance sequence, tiktok eat your heart out! She has a few scenes with her first costar, launching herself fully in to the hug.
Next up, her first solo song. Despite her initial trouble finding the rhythm, she manages to keep on beat for the sequence.

After her first lot of scenes with Connor, Devin has another dance sequence to complete. It's a good thing she's confident as all eyes on set are on her! She follows the music, nails her moves, and throws in a few extra to be fancy. Dance achieved!

Devin and Connor begin the scene, infusing their characters with romance and chemistry. When it came to the kiss Devin took the lead, something she and Connor had decided would work earlier. From the claps in the studio, they were right.

Following dinner it's more tasting time for the boys. Rilian likes carrot and Alfred loves it! Then I commit the worst crime, I feed them applesauce. They dislike it, I am an abomination! How did these boys get Devin's drama already? After the utter betrayal it's cuddles and time for bed.

More Villareal drama, Devin is an actress after all. The newborns are home but things start to get rocky for Luna when she has trouble producing milk. Devin does her best to be supportive and their families visit for Harvestfest. At the end the boys become infants.
Context: The magic of game code allowed my two female sims to have biological twins. Again gameplay in this part would not be possible without the Child Birth Mod by PandaSama, specifically the lactation for Luna.
Saturday evening and we're all back home. Rilian is in the left bassinet in a blue onesie. Alfred is on the right in a green onesie. Both were lovingly knitted by nonna Calista. The skintones are throwing me off a bit, they don't seem to match either parent. Hopefully this changes on age up.
Luna's milk production doesn't seem to have started yet so she takes a cookie meant to help lactation before her nap. Devin finishes her nap and is delighted to find it wasn't all a dream, her sons are here. She calls Callista to tell her, and confirm they will still host Harvestfest tomorrow
Devin: I hope I didn't wake you
Luna: I needed to eat, why is my milk not coming in?
Devin: Amore every woman is different
Luna: I'll try pumping, hopefully I'll get something

Harvestfest is here! When Devin wakes up Luna is already busy trying to pump so she decides to take care of the morning chores. Sleep seems to have done Luna good and she's able to get two bottles ready for when her sons wake up.
After appeasing a gnome Devin thinks she can fit in a run before the boys wake up. Like normal she streams it to keep her fame up.

Luna appeases the other gnomes and gets stuck into her gardening. She enjoys looking after the plants, especially her flowers harvested from the romance festival. It's so much easier to weed now that she doesn't have a bowling ball belly. Hopefully the gnomes will bring new seeds.
Luna tells Devin she's happy gardening so Devin does the next feed.

Once everyone has left it's time. Luna and Devin get in position and manage to start the age up on the boys at the same time. Will I ever get sick of this animation? No, no I will not.
They're looking pretty identical. Quick makeover. Alfred is on the left. Since he had a green shirt on, green is his first favourite colour. He'll also have green socks for identification. Rilian had a yellow shirt so yellow will be his colour. He has blue socks for identification.
Alfred rolled the sensitive trait while Rilian rolled the cautious trait. Both boys have already unlocked their first smile milestone, smiling at their parents as soon as they aged up. First things first, some tummy time. The boys have to learn how to work their necks.
Alfred: *cries*

Rilian sleeps easy enough but he gets sad about being put down. Turns out he has the Loves Being Held quirk. Alfred has more trouble. He has the Gassy quirk which makes his poor tummy sore. He also has the Frequently Hiccups quirk. Luckily Devin soothes him to sleep and kisses Rilian goodnight.
Context: Luna and Devin were able to conceive despite both being female, the wonders of game code, and Luna is expecting twin boys.
PandaSama has the most amazing Child Birth Mod for sims 4 and this part would not be possible without it. So happy it exists!
First part of the Villareal's is up. After a paused pregnancy it's finally time for Luna to give birth. Luna and Devin pass time at the hospital until they can welcome their sons. I took an abundance of birthing screenshots. Again massive thanks to PandaSama and the Child Birth Mod!
Time for a change of pace with a smaller household in the suburbs of Del Sol Valley. It's a calm Autumn morning when-

So the pair go upstairs. They make it to the top just in time for Luna's water to break in the corridor.
Luna will be attended by Dr Farias (pictured) who safely delivered Pollock Knightstone and Dr Eriksson who safely delivered Savannah and Mercedes Chopra.
Farias: Ready for your epidural
Luna: It won't hurt them will it
Farias: Not a bit, just let us know if it's not working

Farias: I had a patient who gave birth in 12 hours but we have had a labour last over 2 days

Luna: Tomorrow is Harvestfest and we have plans, I haven't seen my brothers in forever

The room has a yoga ball that Luna can use for exercises but at the moment she's dazed so Devin gives her a back massage

Turns out the ready meal vending option requires a microwave which is... not in the cafeteria. While Devin blatantly disregards the staff only signs Luna tries out some exercises. Suddenly I spot it. A mini fridge right in the room. Thank you original builder! Childish Luna has a pb&j sandwich.
Devin: I'm back! And you found a sandwich

Devin: You do not need to be sorry. I could only purchase vending food for myself not storage. I tried

The next time Dr Farias checks in Luna is resting soundly and Devin has had a costume change before having a nap of her own. Luna can't seem to sleep for long though and pain wakes her sooner rather than later. She's hungry again. She knows her wife wants to help but Devin looks so peaceful.
She can't bear to wake her knowing the twins will be disrupting sleep soon enough. As quietly as a person in labour can she slides from the bed and grabs a bowl of cereal.
Devin: What are you doing
Luna: Getting food, you were asleep
Devin: I would have got up. Please Lu, you have to let me help
Luna: Sway with me, that'll help
Devin: Is the pain still bad
Luna: I was able to sleep for a bit but this pressure, it hurts
Devin: I'm so sorry
Luna: Don't be schatz. It's a miracle that you and me could make these twins. My biggest fear after mum disappeared was being left alone

Luna: I'm may be older than you but accidents happen. With our kids, I shouldn't ever be alone

Meanwhile Devin is again using staff facilities to work out to prep for her next acting gig.
Full disclosure, I did NOT build this hospital. It was EA ID: Corrinus. I just changed one of the birth rooms into an ultrasound office upstairs. I'll probably need to renovate if a sim wants to become a doctor but this works well for now. Luna checks out some rooms wishing it was birthing time.
After walking in circles she returns to the main room. She decides to have another go on the yoga ball, she wants to be home for Harvestfest. Maybe she can exercise the twins out. Devin having finished her exercise turns to practicing her lines for the gig. It's a cop drama this time.

The delivery is not like Luna expected. More pressure and less breathing breaks. It isn't long before she's completely exhausted.

Devin: Sure you can, you want to meet your sons don't you
Luna: I want... to meet... our sons!
Devin: Then keep pushing

A total 14 hours of labour, not quite record breaking, and we have twin 1

Alfred and Rilian are now infants. Luna carried them and is feeling run down after the experience
TW Deals with postpartum depression
In this part Luna finds it difficult to bond with the boys, the family have a park trip, and Devin shoots her next acting gig which is all kinds of bizarre.
With both Alfred and Rilian asleep the women can head to bed.
Devin: Come here amore mio, you did so well today
Luna: You don't think our guests minded my pumping
Devin: Anyone that minded would have been told to leave
Luna: You did well to
Devin: I did didn't I. I'm parenting level 3 already, I'm amazing
Luna: I wish I had your confidence
Devin: Maybe some of it can rub off on you
Luna: I'm too sleepy to woohoo but thanks for the offer
Devin: Now you mention it I might be a bit tired

Luna: *chuckles* I'll take first watch

Luna didn't sleep long before being able to pump. Afterwards she set about planting the new seeds from the Harvestfest gnomes. Alfred is the first twin to wake up but both boys wake up happy.
Luna: Schatz they're up
Devin: Coming
Luna: Are you hungry Alfred, I have some milk
Devin: Up we go Rilian
Luna: Here you are schnucki
Devin: You managed to get more milk out
Luna: I did, those cookies absolutely help
Devin: Careful Rilian, you'll get gassy sucking like that
Luna: I suppose they have to learn as well
Devin: They have to learn so much

The boys need their diapers changed. Luna and Devin take turns using the changing table. When they're not dodging waste they're playing with the toys on the playmats. Both Rilian and Alfred seem fascinated by the toys.
I present a 4 act tragedy. First act, Rilian unlocks reaching but cannot reach. Second act, Alfred unlocks reaching but cannot reach. Third act, Alfred is put in his crib while gassy. Fourth act, Rilian pees on Devin. It's a tough 4am. Luckily Rilian has the Self Soother quirk.
Devin and Luna manage to catch a few more hours of sleep before getting up. I forgot to check the garden when I relaunched the game so of course half the plants are glitched.
Devin: Morning Lu
Luna: Hey Devin, did you see the plants
Devin: What about them
Luna: Some seem to have reverted, so weird
Devin: Who wants some tasty formula for breakfast
Luna: Sorry I couldn't get milk schnucki
Devin: Alfred doesn't mind do you buddy
Luna: Rilian does
Devin: Maybe he just has one of those faces
Luna: They're identical and Alfred doesn't have a natural pout
Devin: Well mama has a plan to cheer everyone
Luna: The park
Devin: Yes! Don't you love it here Rilian, look at all the crinkly leaves
Luna: He looks worried
Devin: He is cautious I guess
Luna: It's okay Alfred, mummy is just putting you down for a second
Alfred: *whimpers*
Devin: Come on bambinos, we are building our resilience, let's be brave
Devin and Luna begin tummy time. Hopefully the sunshine and crisp breeze will inspire movement.
Paparazzi: Mrs Villareal! Look this way!
Devin: Not now Derek
Rilian: *fusses*
Devin: Oh picollo mio it's okay
Luna: Alfred seems to have lost patience with me
Devin: That can't be true
Luna: Can we swap
Devin: Are you making mummy feel bad
Alfred: *cries*
Devin: Nothing can be that bad
Luna: No, no, Rilian! Please don't cry to
Devin: Come on Alfred, just try turning, wiggle that butt
Luna: Can you turn for mummy
In the end after many tears both Alfred and Rilian manage to roll over onto their backs
Luna: Thank the watcher
Devin: Are you ready for home Alfred
Luna: I'm not sure they'll be hungry yet but they definitely need naps
Devin: Oh hey Ali, didn't see you at the park
Ali: Kids don't belong in magazines
Luna: Thanks
Devin: I'll be on set tonight
Ali: Thanks for the heads up Mrs Villareal
Devin: Nap time caro
Rilian: *snuggles*
Devin: I love you to
Alfred: *fusses*
Luna: Now Alfred, mummy's putting on the lullaby, don't worry
Alfred: *cries*
Rilian: *settles*
Luna: Alfred, schnucki please just listen to the music, you'll be okay
Eventually Alfred manages to fall asleep to Luna's relief.
As the boys nap Devin gets in her daily workout and boosts her follower number. Luna works on a scholarly paper. Being a professor she has academic commitments to keep up with despite family leave. She takes a break to pump and notices the dust piles. Vacuuming she feels herself becoming a neat sim.
When the boys wake up it's dinner time. Devin feeds Alfred then has some tummy time while Luna looks after Rilian.
Devin: Picollo mio I know being small is hard
Alfred: *WAILS*
Devin: You can already turn in one direction, that's halfway there
Alfred: *WAILS*
Devin: We seem to have hit a roadblock
Luna: How about you Rilian, are you also blocked
Devin: Are you sure you'll be okay while I'm at work
Luna: Yes
Devin: And if you need help-
Luna: I'll call their nonna, don't worry
Devin: Until later bambinos
Luna: Say bye bye mama. Mama is off to be a star and get lots of money for us
Devin: I can't believe we have to do a night shoot

Connor: Honestly I don't know what the writer was thinking, but we best start

Connor: And I would have got away with it too, if it weren't for you meddling kids
