VW I.D. R Nürburgring Record ⚡️😮 ______________________________________ [6/3/19] The VW group in general is dominating the nurburgring with Porsche, Lamborghini and now VW itself has just broken the Nürburgring EV record with its I.D. R racer! The current production car record is held by the electric NIO EP9 which ran a 6:45.9 but the 12.94mile track record is held by the unrestricted, blisteringly insane Porsche 919 EVO that ran a terrifying 5:19.546!! The I.D R just ran a super fast 6:05.336 crushing the road legal NIO EP9 with Romain Fumas beyond the wheel, the same driver that was in the EP9! The I.D R is not officially the second fastest car to lap the Nürburgring! 🔥 @Allcarnews Spec Sheet: The VW I.D. R Racer packs 671HP and 479 lb-ft of torque but it’s so light it can do 0-60 in 2.25sec and has a 168MPH TopSpeed due to all that downforce! Remember the I.D. R holds the record at the Pikes Peak Hill climb! In comparison the EP9 has 1,341HP but was much heavier. 🔥 Now the car has been modified for the Nurburgring and the driver has to average 112MPH during the run for a successful lap! R36 GTR Rumors! 🤔______________________________________ [4/27/19] There has been lots of talk lately about the next gen Nissan GT-r as the current one ages beyond belief! Also check out these images I got of the GTR-50 by Italdesign at NYIAS which looks incredible in person! Anyways, the next GT-R may not be a hybrid anymore thanks to incredible customer demand and requests and input for the R36! One of the other main issues is costs, as Nissan doesent want the next GT-R to be even more expensive than it currently is, something a hybrid setup would certainly do! 🔥 @Allcarnews Spec Sheet: Currenty the most powerful GT-R that isn’t $1millipn is the NISMO model with the same 3.8L TT V6 from the last NISMO GT-R! It has the same GT3 spec racing turbos making 600Ho and 481 lb-ft of torque stock paired to a 6 speed DCT with upgraded shift logic and a new Titanium exhaust! The Turbos also get a few internals changed! 🔥 One sad rumor is that instead of building an entirely new platform, Nissan would just heavily redo the current R35 chassis for the R36 but this has yet to be decided. And again they most likely will go with a new platform as the current one has been on sale for over 10 years and nissan engineers are saying around 90% of customers don’t want a hybrid, so yay! The current GT-R costs around $101k and $177k for a NISMO model and estimates for a probably not happening hybrid model would cost upwards of $200k! Another conflicting point is that usually the GT-R platform is completely overhauled ever 20 years, hinting that the R36 could share bones with the R35.... but the moral of this all is that the next GT-R, the already has been greenlit for production, is still all over the place in terms of chassis, design, and powertrains.
