Dreas SMP fic rec in 2026? Yes. This fic has lived rent free in my mind for several years and the second fic in the series just got an update. Misery Meat is a fantastic psychological horror fic with Tommy being kidnapped by serial killer Technoblade just because he was at the wrong place at the wrong time. Very realistic depiction of captivity and bonding with a captor, very well done.

All of last year I catalogued all the fics I read and ended up doing absolutely nothing with that information. This year I'm going to try and compile a list of all my favorite fics I read each month, to share with others and to also keep a record of said favorites for myself :3

Grim Purpose in All We Do

Louis just barely survives the pyre and him and Owen take the 200 year nap together to recover. Wonderful worldbuilding with vampires as their own species with their own instincts. Owen is very much a wet cat throughout this fic. Louis and Owen are so freaking sweet. Scott is frightening, and you can tell he's planning something, that he's protective of his own fledglings, but you're terrified for what that means for the other vampires in town. Legs is thrown in the middle of this all and he's doing.. fine.. with it... for sure.

What if instead of pretending to be human Scott just said fuck it, told everyone he was a vampire, and social gamed his way into victory?? Fantastic v!Scott character exploration and has a great grasp of many of the VSMP cast. Incredibly funny as well. Several chapters have left me doubled over with laughter.

Bone Crown

Avid, in his ever-complicated feelings about vampires, starts making blood-based sweet treats. Fantastic character exploration so far and even better exploration of his relationship with the vampires around town. There's a building tension on the horizon that makes you wonder when the other shoe is going to drop, but so far, it's just a lot of Pearl, Drift and Avid bonding over baked goods!! Must read for any Avid fan, I think.

Woe to Me

The Work-Afterlife Balance
