[10x02 - TOW Ross Is Fine]
FRIENDS CONFESSIONS - TOW Ross is NOT fine
I used to hate this episode because it’s really too much to stand for a roschel shipper like me. But in the last months I started to reconsider my opinion about it. 1. David Schwimmer is SO good in it. He really nailed it in this one and in the following episode, I mean…Friends is about comedy, I know, and Ross’s comic levels of season 5 were something really difficult to be overcome. But Ross in season 10 is just Spectacular, and this episode shows just how good as an actor David was and how much he’d created his own character. 2. I chose the gifs that showed how much Ross is bothered by the situation. The way he jokes when he tells Joey that he should introduce him to his new girlfriend (gif 1) makes me want to cry. I know that people laugh about it, but it’s so evident that Ross is troubled. At first he tries to laugh about it (gif. 2), then you can see that he totally avoids Rachel’s eyes when he squeezes her hand (gif. 3). Then, when Rachel hands him the wine and Ross takes it, the way he says that she’s a keeper makes my heart melt. You can understand that he’s saying this because he really means it, and he knows deep inside that he’s close to losing her forever, this time. I don’t know, but whenever I watch this dialogue I felt so bad for Ross… 3. Later, of course, there’s the toast. That’s another important part of the episode, but the most important moments of the speech come when Ross says the last sentence and tells Rachel and Joey that they might get married and have children of their own. Of course they feel terrible about this, Joey is uncomfortable and Rachel is upset (gif 8). But then, when Ross stops talking and is on the verge of tears (gif 9), just watch Rachel’s expression (gif 10). I LOVE HER. This is not just a friend hurting for an ex-boyfriend or a friend feeling bad because she thinks that her ex will never accept her relationship with her new boyfriend. I think that she is upset and confused because she doesn’t feel fine. At all. You can see it, the way she lowers her eyes. She still cares for Ross, she simply still loves him, and I think she knows it. No suprise that her relationship with Joey lasts a couple of days after this moment…

[1x05 - TOW The East German Laundry Detergent]
Today I watched the Extended version of this episode and even if there isn’t anything to add to Ross and Rachel’s plot line, I looked at it and found out a few things I’ve never noticed before. The way Rachel looks at Ross when he asks to join her and Monica for the night is just lovely, you can say that she is totally content and flattered while Ross walks away (gif 2). I think she was waiting for him to ask her out, probably more at the beginning of the season than later on. The way she laughs at Ross’s joke when the buzzer on the washer goes off is priceless. She always laughs with Ross, I think when they were together they had the most amazing time. Even if Chandler is the funniest guy of the group, he’s most a sarcastic one, but Ross is a smart funny guy and he has that ability to make Rachel smile. She’s so cute (gif 6) The kiss scene is just amazing, I love it so much. The only thing I can’t understand even after 24 years is why this moment didn’t lead to anything. I mean, they kissed and they didn’t even talk about it, as if it never happened? This was a bit forced, if you kiss your friend, even if it’s for thanking him, it must mean something. At the end, she’s so lovely when she caresses him when he’s hurt…And I put another little zoom of the last scene because their smiles are just lovely here (gif 10).
