My take on the Buffy Sainte-Marie scandal is that the CBC censures reporters who try to advocate equity in Israel-Palestine coverage (i.e., anyone who wants less of a pro-Israel bias is punished), so I really think you should be questioning the CBC's motives here (and everywhere)

The crayon negro thing is LITERALLY a racist 4chan troll from ages ago, it trickled into online consciousness from all directions after it went viral due to the africrayon american pun in it. I've seen it on here a hundred times from insufferable white bloggers, it's racist trolls. No one should be listening to them at all

Eh, what part is from 4chan exactly? Googling "crayon negro controversy", I found this tweet from the official Crayola twitter responding to someone that did seemed to have a problem with the word and then other people in the replies are responding with the same sentiment. Granted, very few and one of them is literally an pro life so who cares about their opinion, but still. Then there was this petition that 81 people have signed. And I found this news about people being mad at a hispanic woman for searching for a missing dog called Negro, so even if the Crayola incident was fabricated intentionally there seems to be an antecedent of people acting like this. I don't say that isn't possible that 4chan trolls made those original tweets that Crayola responded to or even the petition, but that mentality certainly they didn't invented it. Also I have no idea what "africrayon american pun" it's supposed to mean. Negro is just black in Spanish, it's not even pronounced the same as the slur, it was never meant to be a pun of anything, unless you are refering to something else entirely.
