it’s okay to take breaks. it’s important to take breaks.
it’s even okay to take a break from what you think of as “recovery” because you’re not under any obligation to devote as much as time as possible to actively working on getting better.
breaks are a part of the process. your subconscious mind can and will do good work while you’re idly playing a mobile game, while you’re asleep, during a shower, during a movie, or while you’re people-watching at the bus stop.
if you don’t seem to be making progress, there is a reason for that. it’s not laziness, i promise you. find the real reason. don’t give up if you can’t find it quickly; there is always a reason.
sometimes, the reason is simply this: rewiring one’s brain takes time. be patient with yourself and you’ll get there eventually.
