38 and 51 for Aggie/Shadowheart and/or Margalit/Harding 👀
You choose two amazing options and then ask me to choose between two ships I love, how dare you. Going to answer this for Aggie/Shadowheart but I'm totally doing Margalit/Harding too.
Ship asks from this post!
38- how does jealousy manifest in their relationship and how do they usually handle it
Early on especially I think Shadowheart internalizes a lot of her jealousy, since she's still very much of her mindset of "Well this can't actually happen because I still have commitments to Shar". Agatha canonically sleeps with Lae'zel first, which hysterically means she can't actually make a move on Shadowheart until Shadowheart invites her for a glass of wine during the party. I always interpreted that as Shadowheart trying to justify her jealousy as see, clearly Agatha has bad taste and she's good to keep her distance, she needs to focus on her own thing... but unfortunately for her Agatha keeps winning her approval and so by the time of the party Shadowheart is like well, okay, let's try this and see where it goes, it probably won't be anything serious but I can still enjoy myself. So yeah, I tend to think Shadowheart's jealousy is kind of quiet, and given the nature of things between them until late Act 2 she tends to mostly internalize it.
Agatha... I don't think she really gets jealous, exactly, just because for her to get jealous it would require her to acknowledge she even considers herself an option for Shadowheart to want to be with, and she doesn't for a long time. I think if Shadowheart ever expressed an interest in someone else early on she'd be kind of sad about it, but she'd figure that makes sense because, well, it's someone else and not her. Ironically, by the time they're actually in a relationship and Agatha could reasonably actually be jealous, a lot of the time it's nipped in the bud by Shadowheart making it very clear that she considers Agatha her primary partner and she's not doing anything without her consent and participation. It's a bit strange maybe, but it works for them and they both enjoy the occasional benefits of it.
51- what is a boundary in the relationship that they would never cross
Shadowheart never reads Agatha's journal without permission. She keeps one the entire adventure and it's pretty harmless, mostly just observations on plants and animals as they travel and some notes on their tadpoles or the shadow curse, very standard ranger stuff. Shadowheart still respects though that it's Agatha's, and if she's ever curious about it she asks her about it instead of just reading it.
Similarly, Agatha never tells Shadowheart what to do with the idol of Shar she was given in Grymforge, and doesn't really talk to her much about if she'll worship Selune now unless Shadowheart asks for her thoughts on the matter. Shadowheart's relationship with her goddesses is complicated, and Agatha respects that sometimes she wants to work that out on her own and take her time with it.
