Art as a tool for community building!

We are a mix of racialized, queer, under-/mis-represented folks who believe that media making is critical to building stronger communities and movements for radical change. As media makers, we are a mix of musicians, DJs, creative writers, community radio/sound producers, dancers/performers, visual and graphic designers, DIY publishers. We want to build skills and strategize through media together towards building anti-colonial, transformative, & community accountable movements. We are fundraising to help cover travel costs to go to Detroit, USA and attend the Allied Media Conference (the AMC) which if from June 20-23. The Allied Media Conference is dedicated to social justice/transformative media making/skill sharing. Many of us in the delegation do media/community work and plan on integrating the things we learn from the conference in our daily work and to share our new skills with our communities (please see below in "Impact" for more detail on our work).
