It floors me how quickly people discard and invalidate things as soon as they arent a part of the standard super-progressive ideology. Phobias are wholly unconsidered and ignored (waves at @permaprof , which I should add that h?s anons actually reminded me to make this post), and asexual and sex repulsed people are as well. This community is so hyperfocused on Only Paying Attention To The Main Things (transids and paraphilias) that we forget to be sincerely mindful of EVERYONE around us. Have more consideration. Tag your nsft and gore, read peoples boundaries, consider every perspective before making mindless arguments or claims, build a real understanding of the people around you. I love everyone here so much, but it is so out of hand what people let go by. I have hardly seen any blogs as of late that haven't had some problem with their boundaries being crossed, getting roped into drama, or being outcasted by the community. This is a safe space, not a Fend for Yourself side of the internet. Make it what you want it to be. You are the creators of your own community. Remember that harm without consent is harm that should not exist. Hold yourself to these standards.
I say, sure, accept “transabled” folks but make them actually live like us. IN PUBLIC. Not just in their bedroom and online.
You want Tourette’s? Okay, fine. Scratch your face until it bleeds and scream slurs in the grocery store.
You want to use a wheelchair? Okay, have fun. I bet you’ll get up after trying to open one door from a chair.
You want Autism? Cool. No more money or independence for you.
What baffles me the most are the folks who claim to have one disability and apparently feel as though they should have it worse (tris?) — I get feeling like you aren’t “disabled enough” for X accommodation or whatever but this is under the “transabled” (doesn’t exist) umbrella. I have to believe “trisabled” ppl are lying about the whole thing.
This shit is such a fuck you to the disabled AND trans communities. Got get offline and get help.
