The GOAT talk
Look, I'm gonna be honest here. I kinda find it weird that people's so obsessed with all this goat talk. First of all, since technically it's pointless since it's such a subjective matter that people only do it just for the fun of arguing about it. But mostly because I think that's always been the thing with tennis, we can never have draws. (just like Federer said at the AO). We can never have equals. We always have to have someone who's winning. It's probably one of the elements that made the sport great and competitive, but it's also the factor that sometimes provoke us to treat everything just like a match on the court. I don't even care who's the goat, honestly. I respect each player because each of them is unique and can produce shots other players probably never could in their life (even if they're world no.1).
Isn't that's what sports supposed to be like? Fun, unique and not boring. Just like Federer Nadal. We don't really care about their head to head or their records against each other when they play right? We always want to watch it regardless of anything (even if they're not no 1 and 2). They're different, unique, and both goddamn great in its own right. Plus, I don't think it even mattered to both of them anyway, because I think they both view each other as the greatests of all time.
Sometimes isn't that the a better alternative?
