Oh yeah, Hand of Emotional Supp- I mean Hand of the Inheritor
I find it amazing that he was an angel of three (and a half if we count the commander from PC wotr) deities who definitely needed support: Ragathiel (It's tough to be a good angel if you are half-devil with anger (and daddy) issues), Iomedae (The knight and the beautiful lady, ah! he asked to become her champion, which the new goddess did not have), and now?
Arazni "I despise my followers and do not wish to be worshiped as a goddess because I do not deserve it" the Unyielding
I hope they heal their soul wounds together.
I love Inheribro
And Arazni
And Iomedae
And Ragathiel too
But WHY NOT a Hand of the Unyielding PAIZO. I like Promise of the Unyielding, Just wondering why
Ragathiel, General of Vengeance
During Act 4, the origin of your powers is made clear by everyone’s favorite naked lady, Nocticula, and everyone’s favorite mom, Areelu. Before this revelation, the Hand of the Inheritor is your KC’s biggest fan. He’s going to the Abyss for you. He’ll defend you against his possible future successor. He absolutely believes in you.
And then he finds the power comes from dead demon lords and is devastated. During this devastation, Nocticula mentions that the Hand of the Inheritor was once the Hand of Vengeance for the empyreal lord known as Ragathiel, the General of Vengeance who was a half devil and yet was accepted by Heaven.
This is Ragathiel. Ragathiel’s mother is Feronia, a demigoddess of the Plane of Fire. His father? A former empyreal lord who fell with Asmodeus and was given the 2nd layer of Hell to rule, the archdevil Dispater.
Ragathiel was raised by his mother outside of Hell after his parents amicable divorce. And he was one angry little shit of an angel (little is relative, he’s like 21 feet tall in his chosen form). Though he was an angel, Heaven did not trust him. Rags had to fight for a thousand years, kill countless monsters, kill thousands of devils, eventually killed Typhon, the original ruler of the first layer of Hell (Asmodeus say he totally allowed that to happen, but Asmodeus is an asshole), and had to get one of his six wings lopped off by his father in battle to prove that - no, he’s not an evil devil.
And it was only after that that the Hand joined Rags as his herald - the Hand of Vengeance.
In comparison, all it takes an Angel Commander is to go “I’m sorry you don’t trust me, but I’m gonna go out and do good (without making a monastic order of assassins to kill other in the name of good) anyway”.
The Hand really learns to trust an Angel KC and feel regret with most KCs in a matter of weeks.
Rhosh, my new tiefling. She’s a skald (combo bard/barbarian class) who follows Ragathiel. Her weapon is a custom guitar with big ol studs on the buisness end so she can thrash and smash in one go. I think I’m honestly in love with her?? She’s so great and I haven’t even finished her character sheet. Her concept was heavily inspired by the musician Poppy.
My Paladin of Ragathiel, Garrett Galatyne; an NPC in the game I run on Sundays. (Of course, not long after I finished this art, the party saw fit to outfit him in spectacularly ornate mithral full plate)
Ragathiel (pronounced rah-GATH-ee-el)[1] is an empyreal lord—a good servant of the gods who through transcendence has achieved some small measure of divine power—known as the General of Vengeance.[2][3] His portfolio includes chivalry, duty, and vengeance, and his holy symbol is a bastard sword crossed with a crimson wing.[4] He makes his home at the base of the mountain of Heaven, in his eponymous fortress, a magnificent steel structure designed to withstand a thousand-year siege if need be.
Pathfinder Deities - Empyreal Lord, Ragathiel.
Essentially Saint Michael of Pathfinder, he’s the patron of Knights, avowed individuals, Paladins seeking vengeance, and soldiers. A wrathful figure, he stands out as a figure for Knights to venerate and model themselves after:
- His Areas of Concern specifically list “Chivalry” as a major focus. - His holy hours are those hours before and after a battle. - He occupies Heaven, and holds a fortress at the base of Heaven able to withstand a thousand year siege. - The above text hints that he specifically understands how to fortify positions and conduct holy siege warfare, a very knightly activity and area of concern. - Born with a Wrathful heart, he is the child of an Arch-Devil (Dispater) and a Goddess of Fire, and channels his anger into destroying evil. He earned his way into the Holy ranks, much like a knight might EARN their rank rather than being given it. - He is the most active of Heaven’s commanders; he has personally led assaults on Hell and the Maelstrom, crippled one Infernal Duke, and slain another. - He serves as an ally to Iomedae, the current most important Deity of Heaven, much like a Knight and his Lord/Lady. - While he is all about slaying evil (it’s his Divine Obedience!), his followers are expected to be as focused on aiding Good as Ragathiel; their oaths prevent them from harming a Good aligned person, and his most devoted followers lose all their divinely granter powers for so much as harming a Good aligned foe.
Definitely the most knightly deity.

Fuck it lets go further.
Ragathiel’s Paladin Code
The paladins of Ragathiel are shining beacons of furious resolve on the battlefield, and they are careful stewards of valor everywhere. These paladins disproportionately come from cultures that are typically hostile to paladin training, including those of half-orcs, hobgoblins, Gebbites, and the Nidalese. The tenets of Ragathiel’s paladins include the following affirmations.
I will avenge evil wrought upon the innocent.
I will not give my word lightly, but once it is given, I will uphold a promise until my last breath.
Those proven guilty must be punished for their crimes. I will not turn a blind eye to wrongdoing.
Rage is a virtue and a strength only when focused against the deserving. I will never seek disproportionate retribution.
Redemption finds hearts from even the cruelest origins. I will strive not to act upon prejudice against fellow mortals based on race or origin.
Rags holy weapon is the bastard sword. Sword N Board.
