The Raging Moon | New Moon in Scorpio | November 15, 2020

This year has been a transformative year for all. In the physical and spiritual realm, we have all had to deal with death. Many of us have had to rework our entire lifestyles and careers. There has been a loss of loved ones, jobs, money, homes, and so much more. The world is an ongoing dumpster fire.

But with all of this burning and crumbling and destruction, comes the ash from which we can rebuild, be reborn, and rise like phoenixes.

Pluto, God of the Underworld and ruling planet of Scorpio, ushers us during this New Moon (also referred to as the Dark Moon) into the depths of our souls, the home of our shadow selves, our deepest desires and secrets, and the not-so-pretty pieces of self that we push down for no one to see.

Find those pieces and observe, listen. With no motive to change any part of those shadow pieces, just be. It is the understanding which leads to compassion.

Water sign Moons are not known for being particularly rational, so embrace that! Throw rationality out of the window and reclaim the irrational pieces that we were taught to repress.

All of those pieces in your brain that are telling you no, you can’t, that won’t work... CAST. THAT. OUT. I bind you, Nancy! The Plutonian energy of Scorpio is all about power. This New Moon is urging you to reclaim that power! The world is crazy right now. Anything is possible. Now is the time to release all that was and make room for new beginnings.

This morning I drew the Ace of Feathers in the Brady Tarot deck. Traditionally in tarot, this would be the suit of wands, linked with the element fire. The word inspiration appears. Perhaps in a creative sense, but also inspiration is fueled by passion. Fire is the first and primary element, that which can ignite, but also destroy.

This card is reminiscent of the traditional Tower card in tarot, but it being the Ace of Feathers, it is the beginning of the journey through the Minor Arcana of Fire. All Aces in the Minor Arcana symbolize the elements in their purest form, not having been molded by the world yet.

All this to say, find your passion, find your fire, and light up your world.
