Made up fic- Happy accidents

So here is my idea...

It’s hard rubbish week, and Elaine is in spring cleaning mode at the Peck family home.

Over the course of the day, Gail is inundated with text messages from her mother asking if she can rid of “this and that”. One of the items is the swing set Gail’s grandfather had built for her when she was a little girl. Apparently it is taking up too much space in Elaine’s ever-expanding garden.

For sentimental reasons, Gail asks her mother to store it in the back shed for her, and when Elaine protests, Gail, only half-joking, says she imagined her own kids playing on it one day. Because this is the first time Gail has ever alluded to wanting kids, Elaine seems more than happy to oblige.

That evening, after a busy day at work, Gail gets a call from her mother with some upsetting news. Because of a miscommunication with Gail’s father, the swing set was accidentally put out on the curb with the rest of the hard rubbish and had now moved on to a new family.

Elaine promises she will hunt down the new owner and get it back for Gail, but after a week of reviewing various security camera footage and interviewing neighbors, Elaine concedes she has no leads. 

Jump to two years later, when Gail is invited to dinner for the first time at the house of her relatively new friend Holly, who Gail is low-key in love with.

They are sitting out on the back porch sharing a laugh and a glass of wine when something catches Gail’s eye through the trees in Holly’s back yard. Gail immediately gets up and starts running towards it, with a worried Holly trailing close behind her.

Gail is sure it’s the swing set her grandfather had built for her all those years ago. 

As Gail turns over the wooden plank seat to confirm it, Holly explains that her mother Nora had come across it and restored it for her a few years ago.

With tears streaming down her face, Gail quickly gets out her phone and takes a picture of the hand carved engraving that reads “For my Gail” and sends it to her mother.

When Elaine replies a few minutes later asking who had it, interrupting Gail and Holly’s first kiss as they sit together on the swing, Gail simply replies, “The woman I’m going to marry.”

I absolutely loved your wedding date au and have made undignified happy noises whenever I've gotten a chapter updated notification for Morning Glory au (my dog can attest to this, she's embarrassed that I'm her mom). Keep up the awesome work.

More Lena noodles please! How does Lena handle the Daxamite invasion? Was Kara involved with Mon-eww in this timeline?

that’s kinda hard for me to answer because i haven’t finished season 2 yet lol but I would assume she’d still irradiate the atmosphere with lead to protect the planet if there was no other option. and personally, i wouldn’t want her involved with him, and that isn’t based on me shipping supercorp. i didn’t like how alex pushed her towards him, so maybe she backs off and lets kara take things at her own pace. i didn’t like how he talked down to kara or how he treated her, and i’d like to think that kara would recognize that hey maybe this isnt what i was hoping for it to be. i think lena, having been around a lot of less than tasteful people, and now around kara as both just kara and kara as supergirl, would also recognize what’s happening. because lbr, when your best friend starts dating someone you’re going to pay attention to that person to see what they’re like. mon-el may think what he’s doing isn’t wrong bc that’s just how he is and he wasn’t told any differently, but in the show he wasn’t corrected. which was disappointing to me bc mon-el in the comics was a good dude/superboy. we really missed out on a fun opportunity with him.

Made cancer my bitch

The first round of my chemo is done and it's gone from my lymph nodes from a combination of the therapy and surgery- they called it a lymphnodectomy but they just cut a cancerous lymphnode from my neck and I have a consultation for gene therapy and where to go next on Tuesday BUT I'm in a good mood and I'm too wired to sleep. Do y'all want a smut fic not attached to anything else for holly and Gail or finish either act of contrition or anything else y'all would like to see have another part to/ finish? Really open, let me i know. I have a forest/ like retreat idea for a one shot but I was just curious and I'm in the mood to write bc it feels like a weekend of win.

"Can we please pretend that you didn't see that and eat ice cream instead?" Supercorp

Lena smile brightly. “What do you mean?” She set the canvas bag the ice cream was in. “I didn’t see anything.”

“You did,” Kara dropped her head. She picked up the remote from the kitchen counter and turned her stereo down.

“If I did see something,” Lena slowly articulated her words as she took the ice cream out of the bag and placed it in the freezer, “Let’s just say that I’m very impressed that someone still knows all of the dance moved to Bye, Bye, Bye.”

Kara blushed and pushed her glasses up. “I used to drive Alex crazy trying to learn it. I broke one of her science fair trophies practicing.”

“All that practice paid off,” Lena closed the freezer and moved to stand in front of Kara. “You’re very good.”

Though she felt like it was a silly thing to be good at, when Lena praised her for it, she felt like NSYNC themselves had come back from boy band heaven to tell her she was doing their iconic dance justice. “Thanks.”

Lena picked up the remote and turned the music back on. “Don’t stop on my account. I’ll start making the sundaes and you keep dancing.”

“Babe, stop, that tickles,” Gail requests, her voice slick with sleep. Holly’s tongue feels like sandpaper against her neck.

Holly giggles and Gail blinks her eyes open. Instead of waking to Holly’s beautiful face on the pillow beside her, there is a ball of white fluff obstructing her view.

“Can you please get your cats butt out of my face?”

“You mean our cat’s butt out of your face. We got married yesterday, remember? ”

“So that wasn’t a dream?” Gail pulls Lucifer into her naked chest for snuggles. “I guess I’m a step mummy now.”

“Why step?” Holly scratches Lucifer behind the ears before doing the same to Gail.

“Because you rescued Lucifer with your last girlfriend.”

“We’d been dating for like two weeks when I decided to adopt. She broke up with me a week later because Lucy wouldn’t stop using her as a scratching post.”

“Still.” Gail rolls onto her back and hoists Lucifer into the air. She smiles up at her first child, her eyes connecting with ones as blue as her own. “I can’t believe I’m a cat owner.”

Holly rolls into her in a fit of laughter. Gail turns her head towards the delightful sound and lowers Lucifer back down to her chest. “What’s so funny?”

Holly wipes her eyes. “Honey, I’m sorry to have to tell you this, but you don’t own her, she owns you.”

Gail is about to object when Lucifer jumps onto her pillow and then settles on top of her head. She feels a gentle tap of a paw against her forehead, as if Lucifer is telling her, “there, there, you ignoramus.”

Holly chuckles and rolls even closer. “See? Told you,” she whispers against Gail’s lips before pecking them sweetly. But Gail finds herself not caring as she deepens their kiss, her tongue slowly running against her wife’s teeth before it thankfully meets a smooth (not sandpaper-y) tongue.

Holly listened to the rain pelt down outside as Gail paced back and forth in her kitchen; the continuous movement was making Holly dizzy. After Gail’s next pass, Holly captured her friend by the shoulders and held her at arm’s length against the fridge. When Gail’s electric blue eyes met hers, Holly took a long, deep breath in hopes that Gail would do the same, which the blonde did a few seconds later. “I didn’t know you were a hypochondriac.” Holly smiled.

Gail shot Holly an incredulous look. “I’m serious, Lunchbox. I think I might actually be dying.” Gail turned her head to the side and coughed like she had a hairball.

Holly shook her head at the blonde’s antics.

“My pulse is thready,” Gail whinged.

Holly laughed. “Do you even know what you’re saying?” To appease Gail’s anxious mind, Holly pressed two fingers against the pulse point of the blonde’s neck. Gail responded to her touch, lifting her chin slightly to allow better access, which Holly didn’t need. She could clearly see the veins in Gail’s neck pumping blood hard and fast. “It’s not thready by any means but-”

“Oh fuck, I knew it! It’s all over for me, isn’t it?” Gail whimpered.

Holly rolled her eyes, “But, it’s elevated.”

“I’m sweating buckets, I think I have a fever.”

“Ok, I’ll admit you do look a bit like a rat that got caught in a monsoon but what did you expect? You just walked ten blocks through a downpour to get here.”

“Well I didn’t want to miss movie night because of a stupid flat tire and some flash flooding.” Gail pouted as she repeatedly pulled her damp shirt out from her chest. “Do you have one of those temperature thingy’s?”

“You mean a thermometer?” Holly asked and Gail nodded. “I don’t need one.” Holly knew it wasn’t the most accurate way of taking ones temperature but she couldn’t seem to stop herself from leaning in and pressing her lips to Gail’s forehead. If she were to guess, the blonde’s temperature was at the high-end of normal.

When Holly pulled back, Gail’s eyes had widened and they flicked down to Holly’s lips. The tension between them had been building for weeks, and Holly wondered if it was the right time to make a move.

Gail gulped. “Um so what’s the verdict, doc?”

Holly was standing closer now. She looked deep into Gail’s eyes, searching for her answer.

Oh to hell with it, she thought. She was done squashing her feelings for the enigmatic cop who’d consumed all her thoughts of late. “Well, with your laboured breathing, dilated pupils, and flushed skin…” Holly paused for effect, hoping Gail would bite.

“Oh for fucks sake, just tell me.”

Holly tried to hide her amusement. “I think, I mean, it’s possible… you’ve got-”

“What? What have I got?” Gail panted, her chest heaving.

“I think…you’ve got the hots for me?” Holly conceded.

Gail’s mouth fell open, clearly not the diagnosis she was expecting. Holly’s breath caught in the back of her throat and she didn’t take another until a smirk formed on Gail’s face.

Relief washed over her. “Though, I can’t be definitive without doing some tests,” she added.

Gail pushed off the fridge. Her cool hands settled on Holly’s hips. “Exactly how invasive are these tests?”

“Don’t worry, I’d be gentle.”

“And thorough. Don’t forget thorough.” Gail said, smiling warmly as her eyes darted across Holly’s features.

“Well, I am anything if not thorough.” Holly grinned.

“I know, I’ve seen you nose-deep in bones. You’re relentless.”

“It’s one of my finer qualities if I do say so myself.”

“So,” Gail bit her lip as she looked around her surroundings, “where do you want me?”

Holly had the sudden urge to drive Gail wild. Only one answer came to mind that Holly was sure would have the desired effect. Her lips brushed against Gail’s earlobe as she spoke, “Everywhere.”

“Hey piglet, whatcha up to?” Gail waltzed into her daughters bedroom and kissed her four year old on top of the head. Alex was crouched over her desk pulling apart what looked to be her radio. The tip of her tongue was poking out as she concentrated hard on what she was doing. Gail thought it was the cutest thing she’d ever seen.

It wasn’t unusual for Alex to ignore her presence. Her daughter was similar to her other mother in that way; they both had the ability to block the rest of the world out when they were working on something important. Unlike Gail who was taught from a young age to keep her eyes and ears open to everything that was going on around her. It was both a gift and a curse.

Speaking of gifts (and knowing what was coming), she felt arms wrap around her waist and the brush of lips against her neck.

“You’re home early,” Holly whispered, her chin dropping to Gail’s shoulder. Gail could sense the smile on her wife’s face—that same beautiful smile she was thankful she got to wake up to each and every morning.

Gail covered Holly’s arms with her own. “That’s because I am the greatest police officer in all the land.” Today Gail had uncovered some important information about the killer in the D’s latest murder case—that he was ambidextrous. As a reward, Oliver had sent Gail home early to her family. “I thought I’d shout my two favourite girls dinner.”

Gail turned her head to the side and gently pressed her lips to Holly’s, savoring the sweet taste and softness of her wife’s warm lips.

“Sounds perfect,” Holly murmured between kisses.

“Why do you close your eyes when you kiss?” The sound of a much smaller humans voice broke them apart. Alex was looking up at them with her big, blue trusting eyes.

Gail sensed a science lesson in her immediate future and cut Holly off before she could get a word out. “It’s because up close mommy’s nose looks as big as Jabba the Hutt. It’s kinda scary.”

Alex squinted; eyeing them both curiously and then as if they had gone mad. She looked like she was about to question Gail’s answer but then turned around in her chair and got back to work.

Arms tightened around Gail’s waist, constricting her movement. “I will get you back for that later,” Holly husked in her ear.

“Oh, I’m counting on it,” Gail smirked.
