If I were to include all the characters I would like to romance beyond the original class story companions there would need to be infinite options so I narrowed it down to these.
time for some nythan family drama... or, really, visad family drama? nobody is walking around with that last name anyway. we could call it temple family drama if we wanted but the point is! We have Naz'erli, the smuggler, and his brother Uv'rianon the agent, but really it's about Raina Temple meeting her new husband's estranged family. I think I said that Naz'erli and Raina never know that she married his brother, even though they meet in the Alliance long after his death, but I do have a little snippet where Naz'erli and Rian meet post-class story, which means it's easy enough to make Naz'erli and Raina talk. Also, never romance Raina with someone whose nickname is almost exactly the same letters and everything. Rian and Raina. Fuck me I'm glad she calls him Nine...
Raina had meant to be professional, especially in front of the prisoner, but as soon as he saw her Nine seized her by the waist and pulled her in for a long, passionate kiss. Raina squeaked into it for a moment, surprised by such an open display of affection, but she was not one to pass up a rare moment like this.
"What's gotten into you?" she laughed, pressing her hand to his chest to create a little space. "Sir. The prisoner -"
"Doesn't matter to me," he said. "You, on the other hand..."
"Sir," she said reproachfully. "I am not so easy to manipulate." Raina glanced over his shoulder at the Twi'lek in the cell behind him. He had the same kind of dots along his lekku as Nine, though none on his face. The shape of his eyes, though, and the cast of his nose... If he were only green instead of blue, they would be the spitting image of each other. Raina looked back at her husband and leaned in, speaking softly so the prisoner would not hear. "But you aren't doing this for my benefit at all, are you, Cipher Nine?"
He pulled back, glaring coldly at her. Raina was not cowed. He always looked murderous when startled.
"This is a weird way to posture, even for you." The prisoner spoke with a distinctively Outer Rim drawl - Tatooine, if Raina wasn't mistaken. She wondered which of them was lying about their accent, Nine or the prisoner. Then again, that was a foolish thing to wonder about a Cipher agent even if she did know his true accent.
"Quiet!" Nine snapped, whipping around so fast Raina had to dodge his lekku. She placed a hand on his shoulder.
"Go ensure everything else is in place," she suggested quietly, knowing how quickly his temper could explode. Whatever he wanted the prisoner for, because Raina knew it was not just a mission, he would be disappointed if his anger got the best of him and he killed the prisoner over some insulting words.
"He can't be left alone."
"Then I can watch him," Raina said. Nine looked at her, startled and offended. Raina waited patiently. He hated to be offered help, but that was why one had to be persistent. He took care of her; she would not let him scare her off of taking care of him.
"Don't engage," he ordered at last. "I'll be back soon." He cupped the back of her head as he dove in for another long, fierce kiss that left Raina's lips aching when he left the room. Raina refused to look at the prisoner as she stood there, mouth pulsing with the memory of her husband's touch.
"He'd do anything for you."
There was surprise in the prisoner's voice, and a hint of an accent closer to Nine's. Raina fixed her eyes on the doorway silently.
"You call him sir in bed, too?"
That was an incredibly transparent ploy. Raina refused to dignify it with so much as a twitch. After several long seconds of silence, the prisoner groaned.
"I guess I can't tell you childhood stories in exchange for getting out of here. He did tell you we're brothers, right? Your boyfriend made that much clear?"
"My husband didn't need to," Raina said. The specifics of brothers had not crossed her mind, but it made sense.
"He actually married you?" A rustle of fabric, and when Raina turned her head she caught that his shadow had moved. He'd stood, approaching the bars. "Look, agent - however he swept you off your feet, you can't trust him -"
"I know what he is," Raina said. "He made that quite clear. He was glad to cut ties with his family. He will not be having children. He only wanted me."
"Sure," the prisoner said. "Rian's real reliable."
Rian.
"He is Cipher Nine," Raina said. "Especially to the likes of you."
"Right," said the prisoner. "Well. Do I at least get your name? Sister-in-law?"
Raina did not move. After more silence, she heard another long sigh and a soft thud. He'd sat back down.
"Naz'erli," he said. "Naz'erli Nythan. One thing my brother and I had in common, we were both quick to get rid of our last name."
It had been an actual overture of - well, obviously not friendship, but some kind of peace between them. Raina turned to look at him, puzzled. He wasn't watching her anymore, elbows braced on his knees as he stared at the floor. His ragged brown shirt and pants might have seen better days several decades before; there was grime on his blue face. He was fiddling with something on his hand - a wedding ring. Raina touched her own.
"Raina Temple," she said. "He won't hurt you, you know. He's only upset he has to ask for help, and from a hero of the Republic at that."
"He's upset that he must be reminded he has family," said Naz'erli acidly, Imperial accent strengthening. "He's upset because I have the gall not to be dead."
Raina could not argue that. She suspected it was true. Naz'erli tipped his head back against the wall, closing his eyes without ever glancing her way.
"For what it's worth," he said tiredly. "Raina Temple. I wish I could be a big brother to him."
"He'd never let it happen," Raina agreed quietly. Naz'erli scoffed, but didn't speak, and Raina turned her back to him once more. This was why it was no good, prying into an agent's past. She would be almost as glad as Rian - as Cipher Nine when Naz'erli Nythan was gone.
