My take: Rainboq’s triumphant return to the Chasemarsh arena has finally arrived, and it is so worth the wait! This fic about coming (heh) clean after so long is crammed full of so much heart, and I love that it touches on a topic that is rarely seen in LiS fics, all done in Rain’s compelling and evocative style.

What are your she/they Max Marshfield headcanons?

So this might not be an exact answer to your question but it's adjacent enough to it and its something I think you will enjoy. My general, mostly all encompassing, headcanon for Max is that over time, with a comfortable partner, she'd start drifting more masc of center. Regardless of whether she actually got to the point of calling herself non-binary or using they pronouns. I can see her getting more and more comfortable with masc styles of dress, especially as she moved up in the art world. Slacks, button ups, bowties, blazers, sweater vests, vests, etc.

In terms of Marshfield, Kate is going to love Max regardless of who she is but I can 100% see her embracing her dapper little spouse.
