2 Carnage Tyrant
2 Revel in Riches

2 Trove of Temptation
1 Vance’s Blasting Cannons
Note this is a casual deck made from stuff I actually have and is also Ixalan block constructed, so if you wanted to give it a swing at FNM you should absolutely make some changes. The general strategy is red control with a little bit of ramp until you have treasure to pay the GG for Tyrant. But don’t overvalue the treasure, even if you have a Revel in Riches on the field. Use it whenever it will help you get an extra creature on the board or to cast another spell.
I encourage you to substitute your own big off color game ender there if it makes sense. I think it’d be kind of hilarious to sub in Fleet Swallower at some point.
A prior version had the following changes and I haven’t played this version as much but suspect it will work better:
+2 Rigging Runner
+1 Demolish
+1 Angrath’s Marauders
-3 Bombard
-1 Vance’s Blasting Cannons
And in the long run I think I want the following changes:
+1 Wily Goblin
+2 Captain Lannery Storm
+2 Captivating Crew
+2 Carnage Tyrant
+2 Trove of Temptation
+2 Vance’s Blasting Cannons
+2 Fiery Cannonade
+1 Lightning Strike
-1 Burning Sun’s Avatar
-2 Angrath’s Marauders
-2 Revel in Riches
-4 Fanatical Firebrand
-3 Bombard
-2 Demolish
But it’s because merfolk and vampires show up so much that the non-pirate wipe is more useful than bigger damage. And 4 damage against a decent number of dinos won’t cut it anyway--if Lightning Strike can’t manage it then I’d be in trouble anyway.
I may decide against these changes as I play it more. In part this deck is pretty dang versatile for what is still really a monored deck and my changes would make its main strat more consistent but with what I’m playing against I’m not actually sure that’s the best move.
