I know you've already got El and Prof red, but I wanted to do it anyways lmao. The rest are under the cut bc this was- very long- 💀
Elemental isn't just afraid of hurting people and himself in his self-destructive antics, but also that if he shatters those relationships, he's lost his second chance and he cannot get that back - that it's inevitable that he's going to be despised by all, for the pain he's caused.
Professor Red is fundamentally afraid of being dismissed as a crazy old man with nothing important to say, and that his strange eccentricities/effects from TFC's insanity curse make him a scary, unpredictable person to be around.
RQ Light is afraid that all his efforts won't help anyone, and might be making things worse - his often blunt personality can be too rough for others, and he's constantly trying to do little projects to keep himself from spiraling into an identity crisis - he's mostly comfortable with his transformation from Shy Orange, but sometimes it peeks thru in painful nostalgia for soft hands he doesn't have anymore.
TSS Rainbow wishes he could go on adventures all the time like the old days, and almost feels like a retired old man that's past his glory days - he doesn't know if he's wanted anymore with all he's been through.
Stargazer is afraid of being discarded, a forgotten, broken robot that no one thinks of as a person - he doesn't want to lose his new relationship with the Galaxy family and become just another fading star.
Plague was a pathological liar, and he's terrified he's gonna slip up again and infect people just so he feels loved.
Nightmare is trying to be better, like he was after redemption, but being stuck as his kingly self he's still somewhat seen as a villain - his already-rough personality doesn't help in the slightest.
Galaxy is trying his hardest to stay present for his friends and family, but sometimes he yearns to slip back into daydreams and fantasies and forget it all - trying to balance fun and responsibility is so difficult that he sometimes almost burns out.
Illusion is terrified of breaking his mind again going down paths of curiosity and escapism and thus refuses to change - that's why he's not in the main au's house, due to being too afraid of ruining his sanity by meeting new people.
Memory isn't in the au because he's always, always lurking, and is hard to catch - but the reality is that he feels like a monster when he was coerced into hurting the Galaxy family by Void's will, and he doesn't want to show his face to them, especially feeling like Time shouldn't forgive him (...like a god).
Both TSS Light and TWA Sabre are terrified of being called cowards, but their bodies just aren't built to survive rough labor and extroverted excursions. Light is selectively mute, and much like Stargazer doesn't want to be left behind - but he's often overwhelmed but he tries to force himself thru it bc he doesn't want to be infantilized.
TWA Sabre feels the same, but he also is afraid especially of being alone - in TWA he never was, and he can't help but feel empty when he's not fused with Galaxy and/or Rainbow anymore - still, his body sometimes doesn't feel like his own.
RQ Rainbow is afraid of not being the main character of his own story - whether bc of mental health or bc others deny him a chance, he can't help but feel like an imposter of a hero.
RQ Dark is constantly feeling extreme guilt for what he did pre-redemption, and swears he can feel Happy Orange's and Yellow Assistant's judgmental gaze on him - he feels he must constantly improve somehow, or else he's back at rock bottom, like a demon trying to be a fallen angel.
TR Sabre tried to full-on disconnect from himself and from everyone else when he found out IGC was behind everything - he's afraid he's not human/himself anymore and instead something wearing his face, filled with yearning and dangerous, evil thoughts he has to tamp down before he tries to destroy everyone again.
TR Elite/Shadow can't help but feel similarly, and is also trying very hard to change and improve - due to his Libra origin, he feels that his every move is life-and-death, and one mistake could ricochet into disaster, so he's almost OCD in how obsessive he is over the morality of his actions.
TR M used to be very depressed and dissociative in his old life, and often gets nightmares - he feels responsible for Twisted's deeds and the things he was forced to do in the war, and worries he's too broken to deserve this second chance.
TR Assistant is the same but even worse - bc he's also Prof Red, the two feel heavily disconnected from their identities and bodies, being fused into (what they believe) an unholy abomination, and that nothing will get better for them and they're trapped in this fate forever - they fear being perceived as a useless, broken robot and person, fundamentally unlovable.
Genesis is afraid of being feared due to being a dragon ofc, but also that he must now bear the responsibility of Inferno's destruction and the weight of SL's deaths, often feeling too large for this world and unable to fit into anyone's life comfortably - he also feels something missing but he can't remember it, so he quietly mourns for them.
Beef still secretly yearns for the Faceless curse sometimes, wishing to escape the pain of being who he is and the scars he bears, and he can't help but wonder if he's just not strong enough for this second chance and that's why he still wants to escape.
Seer is utterly horrified by Void and the broken memories dictating his fall from grace - he's still plagued by Dread's nightmares, and can't tell if maybe he'd always been corrupt to his core, and like Elite feels his every move hangs in the moral balance.
As said before, Spark fears that his good intentions are paving his path to hell, and can't help but be frozen with indecision, especially when he really wants the other Red Elites to be proud of him - he's constantly feeling perceived as either a helpless child or a delusional maniac (he doesn't want to admit that he might actually have a delusional disorder, and tries to hide it).
Colle feels the weight of SL's deaths too, and especially feels responsible for Seer, and is almost overbearing in how much he checks up on him - he's still plagued by Dread's nightmares and Void's shadow-figures, resulting in chronic fatigue that leads him to overwork himself and crash out again and again (sometimes he wonders if he's in a limbo as punishment for failing...).
Sharp fears he's losing himself in his almost obsessive state in which he collects knowledge and repeatedly organizes his library - he fears The Great Librarian is a spirit possessing him and he's no longer himself, but a knowledge-hungry beast - he feels stuck in the past, a ghost of a person.
SSO Sage and Nightmare, both dragons, are two sides of the same coin. They have the same relationship as in Mayhem's aus and interpretations, but they also fear that their cat-and-mouse game will never end. Sage sometimes still cowers in Night's presence, and Night can't help but bite her (yeah they're also yuri), and they feel forever entangled in each other's worlds even when they don't want to.
So, in short, The Hysteria Virus is a virus that infects people who are highly mentally stressed, and nearly at their breaking point. It was accidentally created by Spark, who didn't actually mean to do so at the time.

It behaves a lot like how the stuff from the Upside-down that the Mind Flayer controls in Stranger Things does. The hysteria Virus spreads to anything it can to gain control and is a hive mind. It talks to Spark a lot, trying to convince him that everyone he knows is against him and wants to kill both him and the virus.
Once the virus has successfully infected someone by forming in their brain, it begins to slowly show signs of existing. It starts off with vivid red patches of skin, auditory hallucinations, and the Hysteria Virus talking to the infected to reassure them that they are safe with the virus and that no one has to know about it. It slowly starts forming eyes in laces that shouldn't be eyes on the infected's body- usually their hands, neck, ankles, and smaller eyes around their normal set of eyes. In later stages, it connects the infected to the hive mind, forming more eyes around the infected's body, more vivid red patches of skin, and forms eyes inside of the infected's body (inside of throat, mouth, and on organs)
Spark, being the Hysteria Virus's host, is the main entity that the Hysteria Virus responds to. He can't control if it will infect someone in particular, but he can influence it to spread and has the ability to create a crystalline substance with it. Spark can also see out of any eye that the Hysteria Virus has created, and can communicate with anyone else who is infected as long as that person had already gotten to the stage where they can hear the Hysteria Virus.
At this point, the Hysteria Virus has latched completely onto Spark's brain, being able to make him hallucinate whatever it wants and, if anyone tried to kill the Hysteria Virus in him, it would kill Spark too. It's far too deeply sunken into Spark's brain to remove at this point.
Massive TW for body horror; also gore, exposed organs, mutilated faces, gut spills, disease, bugs, scopophobia/eyes, teeth/mouths, mushrooms, and broken bones/limbs.
First sets: SL Spark and TSS Plague, RQ Elemental and SL Beef!
Plague naturally had to have an absolutely gross transformation, I mean what else would he be? Until R!Prof. Red gave him something for the swelling, half his face was swollen bumps and boils. Both he and Spark's mutated sides have staring, unclosing eyes. Spark on the other hand, I just liked the caterpillar look and added the melty face for proper Horrors <3 And, as mentioned, the caterpillar half is Reverse Steve-colored, for ✨️angst✨️ hehe. His normal eye is somewhat sunken in as well.
Elemental is very Creature :) his tail is actually more like a big vine (or asparagus-) than what's in the doodle. Almost all of his body, except bits and pieces of his face and back, are goopy and Wet™, consisting of water and lava. Initially he had no eyes, and they were covered by the thick leaves on his head. After saving Time, he regained his sight again. His golden eyes look kinda like big blobs of cooking oil, very sad wet beast of a man. He's like a big wet puppy lol (and Dracl drew him in color, so go check that out! :D).
Honestly, I drew Beef's design before I wrote him into the roleplay :P His face is a grayscale spiral, as a homage to his time as Faceless. His mouth is where his chin is, rightttt along the line where the "mask" and his head meets. The dragon half is semi-inspired by his Pumpkin Patch Village variant!! He looks so goofy but he's also huge (as is El-) so he's a very fun concept :)
Second sets: RQ Rainbow and TR Shadow/Elite, RQ Professor Red and Gerald!
Okay I'll be real I had no idea what I was gonna do with Rainbow so I just went with a generic crystal overtaking. Eventually I slightly modified the design to be cocoon-like, with his head and upper body encased in crystals in the dead man's pose (arms crossed over chest). He can hear just fine, but all his other senses are basically fucked. His legs are also broken, because like. I have no idea what to do with the deer part of him. Anyways hes definitely gotten the worst fate so far. Oh and he has a mouth on his stomach-
Shadow is incredibly silly and I love his stupid ass so much. Man's causing so much property damage by just being bored as hell. I like to think of him specifically as some kind of cross between a specific Look Outside AU (Teeth Sam) and like. A harpy version of those cursed teletubbies. In reality he looks like another Jeff The Killer knockoff, lmao- I wasn't sure what to do with his legs so he has. Either spider legs or tentacle thingys, I'm not sure- Oh! And also he can't speak or stop smiling, he makes whistling noises instead.
Gerald is, of course, a Gerald Steve reference. I might change his clothes, im not a big fan of the generic hoodie look lol. He probably got the best fate of all of them, I tried to go for a similar vibe to LO's Rat child. Maybe I'll give him extra eyes, for the sake of making him less of Just Some Guy-
Professor Red is also someone who got off easy, though the mushrooms do give him a bit of chronic pain. Also one is growing wayyyy too close to his eye and he can't wear his goggles over them :') Almost all the varieties are edible, there's a few near his ankles that aren't though. He also has webbed feet and hands as a reference to his reverse self's form :)
Third set: SL dragon!Genesis, TSS Nightmare, and RQ Dark! Two new ones I made today, and one from I think yesterday's roleplay!
Dark is yet another half-mutatant faced Steve, why do I have so many of them lmao- I have a specific flower in mind for him, but I don't know what it's called. Anyway, his normal design already has a melty eye, so I of course made it worse :] His tail isn't actually like that, it's more flowy and squishy, with eyes and teeth all over. Once again the added mouth was a last-minute addition, for the sake of giving him an easier way to breathe- poor guy- I love his hands, they're so alien yet organic looking :>
I decided to just do a goofy ass MLP design for Nightmare, because I love my silly MLP modpack and need an excuse to make it plot relevant. He's a vampire pony, so (if I remember right) he gets obsessive with apple juice (I have no idea though, i don't watch it-). He's mostly just a pony, but his second fire tail has a bunch of eyes (and is possessed by the Red Steve he absorbed). And he still has his regular legs in the back and his arms fused to his chest.
Now, Genesis! IIIIII honestly was trying to go for a hanahaki disease type thing but ended up with some sort of sad widow instead. He also has a springy neck like Beef, but more giraffe like. His usual leaf-spikes on his spine have been replaced with flowers with eyes in them, and his horns are now like a weird spiral halo. His open chest reveals a spiral in an empty void instead of organs. His tail is wrapped around itself in a tight spiral, almost like a cocoon or a snake. He is technically blind, but the tiny flower eyes fix that. Mostly. He also has spirals all over his face and some on his hands and feet. The reasons for his design are lore related ( : perhaps there's more than one empty room around...
And, ofc, the Reverse Storycrafters! Void, Chops, Elemental, and Professor Red!
Like Gerald, Chops is a humanoid pig, but a child since he's a piglet :] he's so smol and adorable!! I also keep imagining him with spots so I added a few to his new form as well :3 R!Elemental is the same as RQ El, but with lots of eyes, as described in roleplay. I like to think the eyes sometimes float out into the rest of his body.
R!Void kinda looks like a ghost here but I promise he's basically normal besides his face (and another open ribcage-). I just didn't feel like drawing his full body lol. I like to think he yawns exactly like a snake (have you seen that video of one like. Almost turning their mouth inside out? Like that). But with way more teeth :>
And R!Prof Red! The sillyyyy!! I love his gutted fish look hehe!! I didn't feel like making it a proper salmon but I swear he is one- Like Void, he has a split-mouth, like an enderman, but he doesn't have all the extra teeth like Void. He's such a silly wet beast of an old man hehehehe!!
