👩‍🎨 CARTOONIST SPINEL 👩‍🎨

A gem that has a very confusing past and of which very few know, but we're sure of one thing: she was from the White court. When the Era III arrived she decided to study at Little Homeschool from which she graduated and now she lives in Homeworld as a cartoonist, however it's good to note that she's usually too anxious (her real name is Iridescent?)

Meet Auguste [he/him], a rainbow spinel based off of Auguste clowns, hence his name.

He’s a silly and childish gem, but knows when to be serious. He’s usually the victim of his friend, Weiss’s jokes.

His gem is reference to red, round clown noses. Instead, it looks like he has a mini beachball on his face.

Rainbow Spinel (aka. Inky) Rainbow Spinel was created to be an artist, creating portraits and statues for the Diamonds and other high-ranking gems. She lives to create, and has the ability to make her creations come to life temporarily if she so chooses. She has the same stretching powers as Pink Diamond’s Spinel, but tends to focus on contorting her face in order to resemble famous artworks or art styles. She has very little awareness of others’ emotions, however, and is oblivious to the fact that this tends to make people uncomfortable. Shoutout to @tomahachi12 for letting me bounce ideas off of her and helping me brainstorm (as well as being the thing that inspired me to make a Spinel OC to begin with)! ~Backstory under the cut~ When Era 3 began, Rainbow started to branch out into other types of artworks and mediums, but after a few years, she started to run out of inspiration. That was when she saw the advertisement for Little Homeschool that Steven had broadcasted across the cosmos, and decided to check it out…only to get lost. Spinel eventually found her in a broom closet at the palace looking for some paint. When Rainbow got to Earth, she was given the nickname Inky (due to how she’s always covered in ink or paint) in order to differentiate her from Rainbow Quartz 2.0. She’d been hanging around for a while when Spinel discovered that Inky had no idea what a ‘friend’ even was. Steven had already been helping Spinel learn about friendship whenever she was in town, so she thought that he could help Rainbow as well, but he had way too much on his plate for another personal student. Then, it hit him - one of the best ways to learn is to teach others, right? And so, Inky became Spinel’s student in friendship. What could go wrong?
