Bonus Content Below: An Ode to an Old Series (Slugcat Marker Doodles)
there was a series i posted on my amino account when i first got into rainworld called slugcat marker doodles. it’s exactly what you think: simple doodles of the slugcats using my different colored markers on white paper. i still have all the pages today, I think. wow. it’s been what, 2 years??
i used to include all the slugcats—not just the vanilla and downpour ones! every campaign they added on raindb i played and drew; spookcat, martyr, wanderer, kingcat, thicc cat, the whole batch. and i had loads of fun—there are dozens of pages and countless memories made.
eventually the series stopped once i posted the last entry (a dump of the rest of the pages), and time passed. i started experimenting, and my style grew and diverged into different ones with varying levels of detail. drawing these on thursday made me remember my roots. and it especially fun drawing the fellas again with my “hypnotizing, shapely, muscle-memory-based goofy sluggie style” i’ve recently acquired.
will the series return in full? i’m not sure. my other doodles recently were just graphite because i don’t (usually) have enough time to use different colors while taking notes. this situation was unique because we were covering something i knew very well so i finished it early. and, this situation surprised me because i tried something new instead. if i do make more, i definitely won’t make the posts super elaborate like how i did originally (which contributed to the end of the series itself).
