Amity: PANICC. She is calling Emira so fucking fast. Once the initial panic calms down she wraps abomination goo around the wound. Once Emria shows up she majorly calms down. Once Emria is done she makes sure you're fully alright.
Luz: Screaming and crying. I'm joking but she is scared. She quickly gets wrap-around band-aids with normal fun band-aids on top. Makes sure you are healing properly. Will not tolerate you overexerting yourself. She'll help you do anything that requires you to move the part of your body that you hurt.
Willow: Tries her best to be calm. She disinfects and badges you up. Then nearly kills you with a bear hug. She is slightly more protective of you for the next week or two (I.E. any time you fall a bunch of vines sprout up stopping you from falling.)
Hunter: More shaken up than you. He has a lot of knowledge on how to bandage wounds after being in the Emperor's coven. He shakily disinfects the wound and puts wrap-around bandages on it. He keeps asking if you're okay over and over. He is overprotective of you afterward. Overall pretty okay.
Vee: Has no clue what to do. While she was in captivity she rarely got majorly hurt. She quickly fetches Luz and Camila and asks them for advice. Camila is way more helpful than Luz. (also get ready for at least one hour of cuddles.)
Raine: They are so very worried about you :(. Since they led multiple rebel groups they have informed themselves on how to properly patch up a wound. Gives you painkillers when they can. Also helps you rest with a bard spell.
Eda: "Pretends to be all cold-hearted but actually cares a lot!" She has bought potions to help heal people so she gives you one of them. After you fully healed she cuddles with you in her nest. She's in harpy mode and has her wings wrapped around you.
Emira: She can heal you herself. So she isn't really worried at all. She gives you a lot of kisses though. 10/10 would recommend as a caretaker.
Edric: He panics. Hard. He gives you healing potions like Eda. You do heal pretty quickly (especially compared to how much he panicked.) He does baby you even a week after you fully heal-
The Collector: They can just heal you with a snap of their fingers lmao.
Lilith: She is actually pretty calm. In the same vein as Raine and Hunter, she used to basically be second in command of the Emperor's coven. So she calmly patches you up. While lecturing you to be more careful.
Gus: Very sad to see you hurt. He swiftly gets one of his friends. Most likely Willow. Gives you so many hugs.

you sighed pulling your hood over your head as you walked through a wooded area a mint-haired person walked beside you.
"I don't think this is a good idea" you sighed pulling your hood more so it fully covered your face making the person laugh.
"Don't worry {y/n} you'll be fine trust me Eda will love you plus she already has two kids" Raine smiled looking at you.
the two of you quickly moved closer to the owl house it wasn't much different from what Raine had told you.

"came down rainstorm they will be ok you know I didn't think they would run off like that though am I really that scarry" Eda asked looking at the small pial of paper on the small table in her living room.
"you stay here I'll go find them"eda smiled kissing Raine on the cheek before leaving Owlburt.

"so kid what do ya say how about we expand your family if that's ok with you" she held the paper and a pen out to you and it took you a second to realise what she was asking.
"y you want to adopt me "your voice broke tears welled up in your eyes,
"of course, rainstorm told me about you and how they wanted you to come live in the owl house with them and sooo Raine asked me you could live with us too and so i thought why not adopt you." at this point you were crying your tears socked the off white paper as you singed the papers giving them back to eda.
"t thank you s so much"you whipped your eye on your cloak.

Notes: Tysm for the request! This was really fun to write! I love writing Parent Raine! I couldn't see the link, so I hope I did this well!

Raine Whispers. Head of the Bard coven. They were known for being timid and easily unnerved. They struggled socially, their stage fright getting the best of them most of the time. You would never have believed someone like that would be the head of the Bard coven of all things, but there they were. They didn’t like eyes to be on them 24/7, they didn’t like the attention and they didn’t like putting themselves in situations where they would get said attention, but as of late, they have been making an exception.
Y/n.
Y/n was the child they had alone in a basket in the middle of nowhere a couple of months ago and they decided to take them in. They couldn’t just leave them there. They along with the BATS were taking turns caring for them, as they decided that they were going to raise them as their own. The BATS along with Raine were the only people who knew, nobody else could be trusted with this at the moment, not even Darius or Everwolf.
If this got out, Raine wouldn’t know what to do or what would happen. But what they were sure of, is that Y/n would be taken away by the Emperor, and they wouldn’t allow that. They hadn’t been taking care of them long, but they just knew that they had to be with them, that with them, is where they belonged and could live their best life.
They had set up a little room for Y/n right in the room over from theirs. It was usually hidden, not to let anybody who decided to snoop get the right idea. They were often out with the BATS during the day but were cared for by Raine during the night.
Raine awoke to the sound of crying, ear-piercing crying. They stumbled awake, sitting up in their bed, they felt a nervous rush travel through their body as their mind started cycling through worst-case scenarios. They stumbled out of bed and summoned their violin, running to where Y/n resided, holding it like a baseball bat, ready to knock out anybody who happened to be in their room.
As they came through the door, they soon noticed that nobody was in there. As they looked around, they soon realized that their worrying had been for nothing, as nothing in the room looked out of place or messed with. There was just Y/n crying in their crib. They dropped their Violin as it vanished into thin air to soothe them and hopefully, get them back to sleep.
"Oh no! Y/n? Are you okay sweetie?" Raine fretted as they pick you up and shush you. They bounce you up and down as they rub their back. Y/n continues to cry as they are soothed, not seeming like they would stop crying anytime soon.
Raine doesn't know what's wrong, they were just fed a while ago, and everything else seemed to be okay unless they weren't noticing something. As they continued to bounce them, they continued to think of what may be wrong, what may be causing them to cry like this. Raine looked around the room, trying to see if they could find something to make them feel better when their eyes landed on the harp that made its home on Raine’s wrist, their Coven Sigil.
“Oh, I think I know what you want,” Raine grinned as they summoned their violin back again. “Right Y/n? Do you want the pretty sounds?”
Y/n stared at Raine with their big eyes focused on the harp, their screams not echoing across the room anymore. Raine just chuckled as they began playing. They played a song that Raine was very familiar with, it happened to be their best song. They started singing to Y/n as their eyes grew heavy with every individual strum. Hearing the coos and laughs from Y/n put a smile on Raine’s face, so this is what being a parent is like. They liked it, They loved being able to be a part of Y/n’s life like this. They loved that they were the one to be able to soothe their child like this.
As the song ended, Raine noticed that Y/n had fallen back asleep. Raine just smiled as they tucked them back in, bringing their little stuffie closer to them as they rolled over to grab it. They kissed them on the forehead before leaving the room and heading back to their own.
“Goodnight my little songbird,” Raine said lovingly as they closed the door.

Summary; You were just a regular bard whose magic came at a young age. Your parents ended up passing away while you were attending Hexside, but since you were on your own you couldn’t keep up your studies at the Bard Cash Course. You’d come late everyday and get terrible grades, constantly fall asleep in classes. So You were forced to drop out as you needed to fund yourself but that was until Raine found you.

It was so overwhelming for you, having to fend for yourself after your parents unfortunately passed away. You were doing so well at Hexside but couldn’t keep up your studies anymore so you had to tell Principal Bump that you had to drop out, now all you had to do was to do street music so you can keep a roof over your head. It was until you started getting in trouble for playing street music and as you got slightly older, you needed to join a coven. You didn’t feel as if you deserved to join a coven since you weren’t very powerful, but even though you needed to join one, you ended up not joining one since the money to keep your parents home was still needed. So for a long time to get money, you were on the run, doing illegal performances..since you didn’t have a permit.
At least [Name] isn’t as wanted as the so-called ‘Owl Lady!’ yet..All he wanted to do was peacefully play songs. [Name] tried his best not to release the magic of the bard but sometimes he just couldn’t keep it in and stuff and people started to move! It was only a matter of time before you were kicked out of your parent’s home. So here he was, a hungry child with no hope left for the world, he barely knew his family there was barely any time before his parents passed on. [Name] hurried through Bonesborough as he was being chased down by some guards. Currently [Name] isn’t as strong anymore from being scarce on his food supply. However, he'll makedo lost time, trying to pickpocket and steal..! Finally [Name] lost the guards eventually.., before he started to hear a peaceful tune coming from the city and some witches without covens were running free from the guards trying to force the witches into the covens. He got out his violin to help with the distraction but by the time he finally got out of hiding the guards were already gone. The person [Name] stared directly at him, fear overcame him once more so he was prepared to fight before [Name] knew it, he was being dragged away but it wasn’t by a guard it was by the person he was about to fight.
The two finally stopped [Name], scared, started kicking to get away but hear, “Hey Calm down..,you're safe here.” the voice said. The Voice was calming, had its own shade of nervousness, it somehow calmed [Name] nerves down. He stopped kicking and was put down, “Mind telling me your name? And where is your place of residence?” the person said, are they trying to sound professional? Should [Name] say he’s still living with someone or at least somewhere..? no it would be too obvious he isn’t living anywhere, might as well tell the truth.. “It’s..[Name], and,..I don’t live anywhere right now.” You sighed, admitting the truth no all of a sudden, you looked sad. “Hey it’s okay,” they said while looking at you. “The name’s Raine Whispers.” They introduced themselves as their calming-sounding voice was soothing to you, “You can stay with me for awhile, if you would like.” Raine offered before all the emotions just broke free from [Name] as he hugged them. “I’d assume that's a..yes?” They joked but still sounded slightly nervous.
You grew closer to Raine overtime, actually having a home to go and come to. You also had more friends or just friends to hang out with when Raine had to do their coven duties as head witch. BATT was honestly fun to hand around but times could come when the members of it would get on [Name]’s nerves. Raine felt honestly the same around the little bard they took in, “Hey, Little Songbird..” they addressed you with a nickname before handing over adoption papers, “Wanna make it official?” They asked [Name]. He nodded his head with a quick “yes ! :)” a smile launched on his face. “Then I guess I’m your parent now, ‘both king and queen,’ you know..’best of both worlds.’” Raine said, patting [Name]’s head, while he knew full well that Raine was quoting someone.
“C’mon ‘Little Songbird’ what do you want to do?” They teased [Name] with the nickname again.
(parental headcanon request) I would love to hear your take on how Eda and Raine would address having an adopted child with PTSD. I can't speak for everyone, but the symptoms I've experienced include re-experiencing past emotional pain, frequent nightmares, somatization (feeling emotional pain as physical pain e.g. migraines), and poor self-image (feeling sub-human, cursed, toxic, etc). I would especially love to hear how you think they would reassure their child that their presence is
Raine
If you wake up from a nightmare, Raine's humming to soothe you.
Also, they like to remind you that they're proud of you for surviving so much.
I headcanon physical touch to be one of their love languages, so they often try and hug you while they reassure you that your presence is wanted.
If you're not the hugest fan of touch, they like to do small acts to remind you that you are loved.
Their voice is soothing and they knows a lot of breathing techniques.
Eda
Listen, Eda may not be the most emotional witch, but she'll be damned if you feel low. She makes it a habit to ask if you're feeling okay.
She's also had her fair share of nightmares, so she definitely knows how to identify when you're having them and will be by your side to soothe you.
If you have a really bad day, you get to skip school and spend the day with Eda.
Also, she’s really good with keeping you grounded during flashbacks, especially with the color grounding exercise.
