Surviving on a treadmill....its not easy. In fact, when you like running outside for distances...its torture. 9 miles today was brutal when outside it would have been bliss. . But it was raining and dark and on the way home I saw a car wrapped around a phone pole on a two lane road I normally run on. So as you can imagine that was out. . Darkness has set in and treadmills are going to soon become one of the options for most of us. So how do you survive? . 🌧🌧🌧🌧🌧 . 1. Cover the stats: All those little displays on the dash have the best intentions, but it's like watching water boil. . 2. Rock out: find something entertaining and dont be afraid to look like a nerd. I totally dance to 90s rock on the treadmill. If people judge me, that's their problem. . 3. Avoid a crowd: sometimes you cant but try to avoid when you are stuck in between people. On that note, a reminder that if there is space, dont get right on next to someone. . 4. Set a timer: go for time instead of distance. treadmills are notorious for being off so take your average time per mile and go for that instead of the distance on the treadmill or your watch. . 5. Smile: when you feel yourself starting to get annoyed/bored/ frustrated just force a smile through it. You want to do this remember? . 🌧🌧🌧🌧🌧🌧 . #treadmill #winterrunning #rainrunning #run #running #marathon #selfie #gym #sweattselfie #marathontraining #wellness #health #healthy #lifestyle #healthylifestyle #positivity Sent via @planoly #planoly (at Optimal Sport Health Club) https://www.instagram.com/p/B38J3FrnCxe/?igshid=m6fjkq07wyug
