13. What gets them flustered

General: Compliments (from a select list of people whose opinions he respects), earnest affection from friends and partners.

Hwz edition: Zzs being soft with him, and Wkx being mean to him.

I think he's overall very good at remaining unaffected when he perceives that someone is trying to get a reaction out of him, but he's mostly defenseless against sincerity.

Also if we're going with physical things: hugs from behind.

Pretty sure I already did this game a while ago for some of my Thronebreaker stories, so now I’m gonna go with the series I’ve started which is set in Arthdal Chronicles and focuses on a poly relationship 💕 Those stories are very close to my heart - it’s brought me immense joy to work on developing the characters (both ocs and existing characters from several different fandoms) and the lore and world-building surrounding the stories 🥺💖  

“I am Saya, Minister of bang of Royal Administration in Arthdal and assistant to King Tagon, and I demand an audience with the Busuku Tribe Chief.” —Our Reflections (Saya’s pov)

Not a big pool to choose from haha, but I think I like the first and third opening lines best 🤔 The first bc the story starts right in the middle of the action and the line of dialogue gives a strong first impression of Saya’s character; the third bc it sets the tone for the first part of the story which is quite mysterious and ominous ✨ It’s hard to see any pattern for these three opening lines, apart from the fact that I usually try to start with something intriguing and/or relevant to the story’s plot/characters/themes 🌸

Thank you! I have several deadlines and I'm at that annoying stage where none of the payoff for them has hit so no dopamine, but I now have new deadlines to work on. So. It sucks and I'm struggling to get stuff done and just. :(((

This did make me laugh though <3 I reckon a hundred duck-sized horses since horses are neurotic little creatures that can break their own legs, and so you might as well have a mass gathering of them to cause a full panic and disorder and let them take each other out. Xiao Hua feels like he wants one horse sized duck and Hei Xiazi to shoot it with a gun for him.

👻 What is one WIP you think you may never pick back up?

I had a cottagecore/farm au for my FF7 polycule. I still find the inspiration in mood boards from time time though, and CC Reunion is on the horizon! Get prepped for that blog takeover.

💭 What is a headcanon you have about your own work?

Tay and Big are having much harder times than you will know 💕 Tay tries to use substances to escape the pain of his separation from Time, and Vegas (who is more privy to That underworld than Pete or Kinn) is frantic. Also, Bigg has much more emotional baggage about vulnerability than he himself realises. Ask me about it if you dare.

👨‍👧‍👧 Do you tell people in real life that you write fic? 

I've told my mother, in the past, and shared some fic with her. But I've stopped showing her any of my writing because there's an unfortunate tendency of sharing it with other people despite my asking her not to :P So now she hears about what I'm writing only occasionally and very vaguely, and thinks it's original works. Other than that, nope.

🤔 What is the hardest part of writing fic?

I mean, I hate writing setting descriptions and I hate writing fight scenes, but honestly? The part that I really do sort of mourn is the transition from thoughts into words. The thoughts are always so, so much more than my words can convey, and no matter how happy I end up with a fic, it always feels like something is lost in translation.

vegaspetetay and/or kinnporschebig who are the morning people? who are the night owls? who likes to take catnaps during the day and how adorable are they when they do it?

Morning people: Vegas, Kinn, Tay. Their empires won't run themselves.

Kinn loves a lie-in though, when it's a lazy morning with Porsche in his bed. Tay, likewise, with Pete. Vegas and Big are the true early risers. Vegas likes to get up early in order to cook breakfast and gather his thoughts for the day, while Big sticks to a strick training schedule that includes an early morning run/swim. He happens to come back just as Kinn is rising to get his morning coffee. They've fallen into a morning routine of quiet yearning, where Big will excuse himself to shower and think about Kinn following him in, and Kinn will follow Big's sweaty back with dark eyes. Porsche thinks it's incredibly fun to watch (from the bed, where he pretends to sleep). He's making bets with himself on who will crack first, and what is the correct nudge to give them both.

Nightowls: Pete and Porsche (peak time for co-op video games, and movie marathons with Tankhun. Plus Porsche just has the habit of staying up until 2am because of his time working for Yok).

Occasionally Vegas will stay up late to unwind, especially if he hasn't had much time to himself in the mornings. Kinn is only up late if he's working or on an international call, and Big only if he's guarding Kinn.

Tay is entirely unable to stay up late. Pete especially thinks it's very cute, because Tay gets very cuddly when he's sleepy and Pete is primed for the sofa snuggles 24/7. He even has the duvet and comfy sofa ready for cuddling!

Catnaps: Tay and Porsche. None of their partners truly appreciate the quality of the bedsheets they can afford. It's an offense to the bed if it's not slept in as much as possible, to be honest. Plus if it means it gets Porsche out of bodyguard duties because he gets to be cute in Kinn's bed? Double win.
