The fact that Bob said that the S5 finale could work as the ending for the whole show just strengthens the theory that Shannon Kook’s character will swoop down last minute, after the valley is all destroyed by both sides, and offer up a solution--take them back to the new planet that Eligius 3 have been colonizing all this time. It can’t be a coincidence how often Eligius 3 has been mentioned in the last few episodes. It would certainly be a “beautiful and poignant” (Bob’s words) way to end the show. Just think about it, the whole premise of the show was for the people on the Ark to somehow finally make their way back down to Earth after waiting almost a hundred years for the radiation to dissipate. And that’s what they did. They escaped the confines of their metal home and made it back to Earth, their true home. They were probably filled with hope of starting an actual life for themselves--free from all the strict rules of the Ark. But now that they’ve destroyed the last survivable land on Earth with all their fighting (again), they have no choice but to leave it all behind if they want to survive. All this time, the goal has been to 1) get back to the ground, 2) establish some peace, and 3) finally settle down. It’s a “beautiful and poignant” way to end the show because here comes a new person telling them that they could have exactly that. They could have peace. They could settle down, and just finally start living. But the catch is, it won’t happen on Earth, the place they’ve been trying to get back to after so many years. Instead, they have to start new on another planet--perhaps where a society is already established, and there’s no more fighting. Their very own City of Light come to life. A world in which Bellamy and Clarke can just be. A world where they constantly didn’t have to worry about saving their friends or staying alive. A world where they constantly didn’t have to make difficult choices. A world where they could just finally be together.
