Rex Ranch Development Gets New Feb 14 Deadline
(just announced via Arizona Daily Star, December 15, 2013 by Cathelena Burch)
41 days ago, a group of 5 people came together to try and save, renovate and preserve the historic property known as Rex Ranch in Amado, Arizona. We need $735,000 to do it and we counted on the kindness of strangers who might believe in this crazy idea too.
From humble beginnings, this is now a small network who know now about the Ranch and want to see something positive happen there. Something fueled by opportunity and purpose, volunteerism and creativity of approach.
Because of every one of you who signed our petition and every single person who Donated or Liked, or anyone who wrote checks, or volunteered time and expertise, attended events and gave us leads for the cause - because of all you remarkable people out there …
… we’ve been able to prove community support and we’ve brokered 60 more days to make it happen. Our auspicious new deadline is February 14, 2014. We have a better chance than ever to succeed.
With this great news, the bank that owns Rex Ranch has affirmed their commitment to our ideas and approach and have extended the goodwill to give us more time to achieve them.
Board Member Calvin J. Case negotiated this extension of time and terms, and thanks to an anonymous Tucson supporter, power was turned back on yesterday at Rex Ranch for the first time in almost 2 years.
Property Inspections begin next week. Progress is being made by the hour. “Save Rex Ranch” can take a breath – and you can too. The fight lives on and we’re more confident than ever that we will succeed.
We’ll be working very hard behind the scenes on more property analysis, our long-term strategic renovation strategy, our operating budget and our revenue models.
That’s what we’re focusing on for the rest of 2013, and we may be a little quiet until we know more. But we will absolutely keep you informed of the big stuff. Please know how much today was a huge victory, we could not have done it without you. Seriously awesome.
