A new adventure. A new friend.
He walked out of the Dragon Heart Inn, the place he’s called home for almost a year and leaving it behind along with all the memories it stored, the good and the bad. With every step he took as he moved towards a new day, he kept asking himself a single question. “Did I make the right choice?” On the boat leading from the shore of Howling Fjord and Northrend to Stormwind, as the ship bounced on the waves and he gazed up at the night sky, “Did I make the right choice?” Soon the ship arrived in Stormwind for a brief stay in order to resupply, upon the request of the ship's captain, Thandiroq did not help with the moving of any cargo, so instead he made his way to the Golden Keg for a drink and light meal.
He sat at a table with a plate of rolls and cup of moonberry juice to side of a map he had placed before him. The Keg was empty at the morning hours, so he was lost to his own thoughts once more as he studied the course he had planned to take. “Did I make the right choice?” Just as he brought one of the rolls up to take a bite of, an alien sound count his attention, a click and a bright flash came from near the entrance to the Inn. Thandiroq was no longer alone, near the entrance now stood a Night Elf woman holding a camera. He offered a warm smile as she took note that he too was inside the Inn and soon they began to talk. First she spoke of the device she had used, the camera fascinating him as only the watch he had once possessed had done, then they spoke of new lands and seeing the unknown. Before Thandiroq knew what he was doing, he was going through the usual recruitment process with the Night Elf woman, asking her what she thought adventure meant. Perhaps he was only doing this so as to clear his mind from the same question he’d been asking for the last few days, perhaps it was cause she genuinely appeared excited for a life of adventure, or maybe it was cause he finally had someone to talk to. Finally it was time for Thandiroq to speak up, he told her that if she so wished it, when he returned on his way home he would take her back to the Dragon Heart Inn and introduce her to the others and a life of adventure. The response she had was not what Thandiroq expected, she was sad and almost hurt by what he said. “How could you tease me with such words, saying you would show me a life of adventure, but only after you finished your own?” Now it was his turn to be hurt, by his own words repeated to him from a different point of view. Thandiroq looked into the woman’s eyes, looking past them to see something he had not seen in a long time. A fire, the desire to live, to be excited at the unknown and to experience it all how she wanted to and not by anyone else’s designs. So familiar, was that which he now looked into, that he was driven to speak. “I do not know how long my journey will take or if I will even return from it. There will surely be dangers and your well being could be at stake. I, Thandiroq, Champion Dragongarde of Dragon Force, vow to do my all to keep you safe through this adventure. If you would care to accompany me.” Her face lit up and where once a frown formed, there was now a wide smile. “I am Crystal Lunaray, my friends call me Nebby.” She spoke in a jovial tone. “I would greatly enjoy doing so.”
A toast to adventure and a promise to entertain Nebby with stories of his adventures alongside his family of Dragon Force were made and then the travel to the boat docked at Stormwind harbor. After that they would make their way to Feralas and to what it was Thandiroq was after. Now he had an answer to his question. “Did I make the right choice?” Only time could show him truthfully, but for now. “Yes, this was the right choice.” He smiled as he now set upon the path to the unknown with a new companion at his side. The fire and spirit that swelled inside of her, gave fuel to his own. Now the adventure truly begins.
