Hunger games AU, Caspian & Any Pevensie (romantic of platonic I just trust your judgement so hard for this)
He wishes, suddenly, desperately, as the berries touch his lips, that it had been different. That Edmund hadn't been drawn, that he, idiot that he is, hadn't volunteered.
That there wasn't precedence, for this: Edmund's hands on his jaw, his pupils so huge that Caspian can't see the colour of his eyes at all. Edmund's leg slotted between his.
"It will take just a moment", he says softly. "The world will go soft, and then dark. It will be like you never felt anything at all."
Caspian crushes the berries between his teeth.
I love you, he thinks. He doesn't say, though. Edmund knows. He knows.
He must.

🍪 cookies & cream frappuccino – what brings them comfort?
Playing music! Cat was an orchestra kid in high school, and as an adult, she continues her practice with the viola, and when she's stressed, she finds getting in the zone with her instrument really helps.

Prompt: Evie & Finn (& Theo), talking about Evie having Finn’s child (/children, if baby #1 isn’t a boy)
Baby Talk
TW: talk of impending parent death
In which Finn goes to the only person he'd purposely impregnate in order to keep a man named Francis down
"'My father is dying."
Finn hadn't meant to have it come out so... abruptly. The plan had been solid, show up to the Archibald house, spoil the new baby a little bit and then casually work his dilemma into the conversation. However, the moment he was in the room with Theo and Evie, little Cordelia asleep and cuddled up into Evie's arms, the words just burst out.
"Oh my god, Finn, I'm so sorry." Theo stood up as if to comfort him, but Finn shook his head, holding up a hand.
"It's okay, we kind of knew it was coming. He'd had a lot of... not-so-great scans lately." And honestly, Arthur Rockwell had poured as much money as he could into his cancer treatments and had been told in no uncertain terms it wasn't a matter of 'if' he will die but 'when' and the answer was 'sooner than you want'
"Still." Evie shook her head. She knew there were very few kind feelings shared between the Rockwell men but it would hurt nonetheless. Finn cleared his throat.
"Right well- that's not really... the purpose of my visit, there is something else." Evie quirked one perfectly sculpted eyebrow. She'd given birth just six weeks ago but the only clue was the newborn in her arms. She was already nearly back to her pre-pregnancy weight, even with Finn showing up regularly with her favorite treats, and her hair was back to perfectly highlighted and styled, her make up and eyebrows straight out of a magazine. The kind of new mom you'd expect to see on TV not in real life.
"Spit it out, Finn, you know I get anxious when you use 'Meeting speak'." Overly formal conversation.
"I need to have a child- a son- quickly." He spat out.
"What?" Theo barely managed to contain that laugh that tore at his throat. "You're joking."
"My father was painfully clear. If I don't prove to him that I will have an heir to pass the family name and family business onto then he will simply give it all to my uncle." Finn hated his uncle. Francis Rockwell was a pain in Finn's ass, a pain who was incredibly whiney about the fact that he wasn't supposed to be getting anything when Arthur died. as Arthur's only heir, it was all meant to go to Finn, the money, the stocks, the business, everything was meant to be his.
But he had no plans to have children. And his father couldn't let that stand. Francis had a son, Lyle, and Lyle was very open about wanting a family someday.
Fucking great for Lyle.
Arthur didn't want to risk what might happen to the family business if Finn didn't continue the Rockwell name- all things that he, as quickly as he could, relayed.
"So what does that mean?" Evie asked as Finn wrapped up his explanation.
"It means- I need to have a kid before my dad dies. A son really but I'm more than happy to lie to him-"
"What about Sebastian?" Theo asked, referring to Finn's step-son. "What about Kitty for that matter?" The mother of that step son.
"I'd rather stick my dick in a blender than have a kid with Kitty and Arthur says step kids don't count." Finn rolled his eyes. "The kid has to be, biologically, a Rockwell." Which was a massive pain in the ass, never mind that Finn didn't think Sebastian would be at all interested in his family business. He wasn't even a teenager yet, but he seemed completely disinterested in what Finn did for work when he was home from boarding school.
"Okay so... what are you going to do?" Evie asked, but the look on her face said she already knew what he was going to ask.
"If I'm going to have a baby with anyone, I want it to be you." Alex sat down on the ottoman across from Evie. "I know you just had Cordelia, but it's got to be soon, he doesn't have a lot of time and we have to be able to tell him it's a boy and provide a paternity test to prove it's actually mine." He glanced up at Theo but he knew Theo would go with whatever Evie wanted.
"I'll take care of all the expenses, doctors visits, anything you need through the pregnancy, hell I'll be on call for those weird ass cravings you got with Cordelia." He reached out to brush a soft, fluffy bit of blonde hair back from the baby girl's forehead.
"Finn." Evie sighed, She adjusted, moving to had Cordelia off to Finn, he took her, cradling her head. The baby was so small, and she looked like a doll. Finn had seen some ugly babies in his time, but Cordelia looked like the little cherub figurines people bought with her perfect rosy cheeks and little button nose. She smelled like baby powder and lavender. When he glanced up Evie was watching him with a soft look in her eyes.
"Give me two weeks." She sighed. "Two more weeks to heal and then- yes. We will do it." She looked back at Theo who reached over and took her hand.
"Are you sure, Ev? It's- a lot of stress on your body." He reminded her.
"I know but I'm sure. What do we do... if it's a girl?" She asked.
"We lie." Finn shrugged. "He won't be around long enough to see them grow up, we lie about the gender and all babies look the same for the first like- year right? We go for a gender neutral name, it'll be fine."
"Or we have another one." Cordelia's offer was quiet but loud.
"Or we have another one." Finn agreed, though really he was fine with having a daughter as an heir. Cordelia woke up, her eyes fluttering open, her little body stretching out forcing Finn to readjust so she didn't roll right out of his arms. The baby girl stared up at him with her big blue eyes.
"Ready to be a big sister, Little Cordelia?" Finn asked. She hiccupped, which Finn decided to take as a statement of agreement.
aish how did I not know you also played AA oh my god
But no for real “would you really blame me for a mistake I made in my youth” is one of his most iconic moments like sir
ayy i didn't know you played AA either! they're my comfort games to me at this point, on any given day i'm in the middle of like three cases at once lmao
and yes it's SUCH an iconic moment, honestly i have to start using that excuse too because it's hilarious
—First and foremost I’d like to start with Benjamin and Verity. I just picture these two having the most fun dynamic. They are both bisexual disasters who are vocal about their feelings, and are torn between their duties and their hearts. I could see them quickly becoming each other’s confidants (soulmates aren’t just lovers trope anyone?).
—Now we move to the Gossip Girl reboot babes. For this Kyla really stands out to me. I think she and my conniving little disaster, Evi, would be an intriguing match. Similarly to Kyla, Evi is also more of a “blend in the background” type since she serves as the “eyes and ears” of her elite friend group. I picture them as frenemies of sorts, solely because Evi is an “acquired taste” as Max would say. There’s also the fact that they are both somewhat infatuated with Max (that could certainly stir the pot between them). Plus, I just think that Kyla, Evi, and Guy (@decennia) would make the most powerful chaotic trio the Upper East Side has ever seen. 👀
—Lastly, there’s Harry Potter. I honestly saw potential for quite a few crossovers here (I’m still in my hp high lol), but I am going with Venus and Benedicta for this one. With them both being pureblooded Slytherin princesses, I think they would be like a perfect match made by Merlin. I could see them being this envied dynamic duo and besties all the way. Venus would for sure be the best female friend Benedicta deserves. The two of them eventually have their lives shaken up by the dark lord. So, how it affects each of them respectfully could give them another thing to bond over.
Send me a✖️and I’ll come up with a crossover we haven’t talked about before
