FYI your Valentine's day thing is really cute and you are amazing. [honmeichoko] Yaku, Bokuto, I'm not really good with chocolates-so easy to burn that shit- but I love making cake so uh I guess I made a chocolate cake instead. I was trying a new recipe here so I'm not sure exactly how it'll taste but I hope you'll like it?
cee: tumblr ate my first response so i made up for the lateness with length. lov ya pal.
Yaku sighs softly, looking at the cake you have in your hands. “You didn’t have to,” he says, but then, with a quirk of a smile: “But I know you would have wanted to anyway, so thank you.” He quickly
“Can we eat it now??” Bokuto whines.
You snicker lightly as Yaku reprimands Bokuto with a “Breakfast first!”. You take the cake to the table, Yaku laying out the plates. You nudge Bokuto’s shoulder softly, and you hear him mumble something before heading to get some mugs for the table being set up too.
You head to the kitchen to bring out the bread rolls and the meat for breakfast when it hits you. You know why Bokuto’s upset and demanding; it’s because he’s seen the cake waaay before the surprise. See, you’d planned to show them your new creation by morning, but Bokuto crept down to the kitchen for water in the dead of night while you were transferring the cake from its temporary hiding place to the refrigerator. He gasped upon seeing the cake, but with a kiss you’d bribed him to do his best to not say a word to Yaku until the morning.
“But we have to eat it quick,” Bokuto said. “Because I can’t keep a secret from Morisuke that long!”
But you hadn’t been able to eat it quick! Because you had to make breakfast after you woke up, all while making sure Yaku had no idea what was in store for him. It had been a full hour since Bokuto hovered around you trying to figure out when you’d let the cake out.
And you finally did and you still told him to wait.
The smell of brewing coffee hits you when you come back to the table to eat, and Bokuto is eyeing the cake with the saddest eyes you’ve ever seen. You take a quick glance at Yaku, who is also marveling at Bokuto’s intense stare.
You shrug at him, before slinging an arm over Bokuto’s shoulders. “It’s Valentine’s,” you insist with a chuckle, unable to resist Bokuto’s pout. “How about let’s break some rules and eat dessert first, hmm?”
Yaku frowns a little, but you see him try to fight it. It takes a split-second before the frown turns into a smile. “Just because I love you two.”
“I love you two, too! Happy Valentines!” Bokuto says, pulling Yaku by the collar from across the table to kiss him before standing up from his seat and (in his breakfast-less state, at the moment) carrying you up in the air to kiss you.
“I love the both of you, too.”
