Faint Waves - Mirage (from Hideaways III, Self-Released 2020)
Revival doesn’t come cheap
God wants to empower you, and He is fully capable of doing it. But it may cost you an awful lot of comfort and security. Do you want the anointing even if it costs you everything? Do you want the presence of God so much that you will press on to receive it?
You will not have more power until you are dissatisfied with where you are spiritually. You will not receive more power until you want more. You will not have greater intimacy with Jesus until you become dissatisfied with your current relationship with Him. Jesus is using a nobody like me, “little ol’ me,” for His glory because I press Him for more. I want to tell you, “There’s more! God has more to pour out on you! You can have more of the anointing...more of Him! But in order to receive it, you must let Him have more of you!”
By pressing in for many years, I have received more of God, and I’m thankful for that, that I can hardly express it in words. But it has cost me some things along the way.
During the long and difficult years of preparation in the wilderness, God taught me that the anointing always costs something. There is something about following Jesus that involves sacrifice. It always exacts a high price. In the wilderness years I discovered that the cost of true discipleship involves more than economics; sometimes it costs relationships, even allegiances. I learned that sometimes there will be costs as well to family roles, since rarely do one’s family members fully understand the call of God. And I learned that not all of those who pray for revival to come to their cities and to their churches will like it or feel like blessing it once it comes - especially if it comes in an entirely new manner from the last outpouring on earth.
