My nerdery has reached unacceptable extremes. #rangerthings #powerrangers #strangerthings #fandom #geek #nicetshirt #me
From the footnotes of the fic I posted today:
Tolkien’s statements on Aragorn and Arwen’s kids are pretty much just ‘Eldarion and some daughters’, and where Tolkien gets lazy I ignore him and get creative :) . I think it’s a missed opportunity to lose the parallel of have four straight generations of twin sons and a daughter (Eärendil and Elwing never had a daughter, you say- well, they might have if Eärendil hadn’t buggered off sailing). Additionally, speaking (human) genetically, the tendency for twins (not identical twins but I digress) is passed through the mother’s line, therefore it would make complete sense for Elwing and Arwen to have twins but Celebrían would have just as much of a chance as anyone. Therefore the only explanation is that Elrond was the one to give birth to E, E, & A, case closed.
When Gandalf comes back with his nice new white bathrobe or whatever and is telling the remnants of the fellowship about the ‘unnamed dark creatures’ that made all those extra tunnels beneath Khazad-dûm… why is it always dark creatures? Could we maybe encounter some nice fellows who give us tea and biscuits once in a blue moon?
“How much are the crackers?” Asks a man trying a sample of crackers with spread in Trader Joe’s, his eyes about five centimeters from the sign reading ‘Crackers: $2.99’.
I just published my first Silm fic. How? How is that the first one I’ve published? I have been writing Silmarillion fanfiction since I was nine. Little fifth grade me went through The Hobbit, LotR, and the Silm in one semester, then got to work. I have written Silm fanfic for a good decade or so. How have j never published anything? How?
I wanted to listen to my audiobook, but have to charge my phone before an early flight tomorrow (and only own wired earbuds), so I thought ‘wouldn’t it be cool if audiobooks had subtitles?’
Okay so thats called a fucking book genius
My mother and I are in different rooms of the same house: she is watching Survivor: Heroes vs Villains, I am watching Survivor: Kaoh Rong. Average day in this house I fear.
