I both agree and disagree about jason’s “angry robin” characterization depending what the context is. Modern writers tend to depict him as someone very violent and almost a lost cause, someone who hurts others just because he could. But at the same time, I dislike it when readers turn the other way around and depict him as an always happy-go-lucky robin.

Yes, jason was a lovely robin, a good kid who loved school and adores his mantle. But it doesn’t erase the fact that he has his moments where it painted him as angry and reckless. I think it’s actually pretty difficult to describe each robin with a singular personality trait.

I wouldn’t mind them as long as both writers and readers remember that, fundamentally, jason was the “angry robin” because he’s such a good person. He was angry on the field not because he can, but because he had such a good heart and it angers him to see good people get hurt.

This is a kid who was a victim of gotham’s system since he was born. Say what you want about him but he has the rights to be angry for the people of gotham, especially the ones who couldn’t defend themselves from criminals and justice system alike. He’s such a good kid at heart that even the sight of criminals makes his blood boil, the thought that they hurt other innocent people. Despite having a father who was a criminal, jason knew both of his parents were victims at some point too, and I think that’s why he kind of set cathrine in a higher regard compared to willis.

Bruce and the other robins share the same views as him, but none (except Steph) had lived through gotham like he did. He was in the trenches till he was 12 years old when bruce adopted him.

Its why, for me, what’s most devastating about jason turning into red hood isn’t just the good kid turning bad, but its more-so because he had lost so much faith in the system, in batman and robin, that he chose to manage the crimes to make sure it doesn’t get too far. He manages the crimes around to minimize their victims, not to fully erase it.

Of course that’s my personal views on him based on what I’ve read. Feel free to disagree or add your own opinions to it.

guys I just want to play dnd so bad. I have no time but I just want to sit at a table with my friends and laugh and cry and tell stories and fight monsters and reveal secrets and play characters and do magic. I want to roll dice and see my favorite people and become someone else and look at the beautiful vision that is a filled character covered in eraser stains and wrinkles and pencil scratches. I love dimension 20 and mighty nein and there are like 14 dnd shows on my list but really I just want to PLAY.

Lol, the combo of the pictures from my current top posts and latest post makes me even more amazed not more people ship Vmin and see the potential in them as non platonic. Like, come on, it's there for everyone to see... It doesn't have to be real for us to ship it! 😘 Oh well, at least Vminies get well fed and don't need edits for our fic inspiration. 😜

Really, just let people ship Vmin. It's not difficult to see why we do it. Sorry, it's just interesting how after all these years I still see comments like "how can people ship Vmin romantically?". Like... We have all the reasons, just leave us alone if you don't get it. No need to talk about it if you don't have anything new to say. (Especially if you ship something else because then your are just being hypocritical.)

when specifically an artist let’s likes and whatever measurement of popularity social media platforms have deemed to be the thing we should care about the most, they are essentially letting a number undermine their hard work and efforts they put into their work. It’s easy to let social media get to you like that, just in general, but you just have to say to yourself, “I have something important to share/say, and the amount of likes I get doesn’t dictate the validity of what it is I’m sharing” . it might not be that serious but whoever needs it, thank you for sharing your work cause it probably made someone’s day and if not that’s okay cause you create art for yourself first and foremost ^_^ and you should be happy and proud of yourself for that.

Putting yourself out there, sharing your work, exposure, engagement whatever you want to call it, for sure is important but you shouldn’t let that interfere with the process of making your art :)
