I fucking fucking ADORE how you can see his powers progress over the course of the movie
It starts off with the atm robbing scene, you can see he has to deliberately place his holes and try to manually get them to exit in the right spot (haha), as well as with the machine and well. himself getting stuck inside his holes whilst doing it, then once it gets to fighting with miles, he slowly improves a bit.
for once, he doesnt get stuck in his holes, but he still doesnt really have much control over where they go (mainly his 'OF COARSE WE END UP HERE' line shows hes not really intentionally placing them this way), but over the course of the fight while hes agaisnt miles you can see so much improvement. with both miles learning how to use the holes to his advantage, but more importantly spot learing tricky ways to try and avoid miles. Some stuff the designers of him noted was that the spots on him changed and moved with his emotions, and it seems to be true for how they act as well. The whole alchemax chase leading up the the big finally with his look at me lines (that fucking haunt me every time), you can see them appear erradictly around him, as well as constantly having the sparking effects, which usually do not appear as much. then he kicks himself into himself and the lock is broken. He figured out the dimension travel first which is quite obviously shown, but then you can see how well, effortlessly he can use the portals. even the spidey society portals have big flashy lights and huge openings that cause stuff to float n things, but spots just effortlessly appear and leave. then ofc he exits himself and has no spots. Cut to the mini reactor build, you dont really see his power much here but it does show him absorbing it, and the massive explosion. which is basically a huge 'power up!' sign for him. once they are in pavs verse, you can see that so clearly. hes effortlessly placing and travelling thru the spots, as well as being able to use them to hit gwen, throw the others, etcetera. the big scene of him powering up the reactor (not using it yet) shows some of that, with how easily he can throw the large spots to toss out everyone in the area, as well as using them afterwards to throw the others around, and to snap the rope easily. Then the boom.
We dont get to see much of his new power yet, but its clear he has a clear link to miles, and some sort of psychic link id say? the scenes go fast but if you watch it shows pavs canon event as well as showing some future stuff the 2nd time it happens. hes definately much much more powerful now n im so fucking excited to see what new stuff he can do in beyond
