Students from Richard Allen Preparatory Charter School were happy take part on Earth Day in the ribbon cutting of the Bartram’s Mile at Bartram’s Garden. The garden has been a huge inspiration for the student’s artwork throughout the year including a mural called “Change of the Gingko” located inside the school. By carving linocuts and printing them on fabric the students made the ribbon that included bikes, bee’s, tea drinking trees, gingko leaves, shoes, turtles, and a hiking leaf. Along side of Councilwoman Jannie Blackwell, Senator Anthony Williams, Mayor Jim Kenney and Rapper Freeway the students took part in celebrating their ribbon being cut for the opening of Bartram’s Mile.
