I am might have say as they met Via in a confusing they’ll mistaken her as a yokai. Donnie doesn’t know much about Hell from he learned from sources.

Via has no knowledge of foreign cultures in Japanese since she has no idea what the hell is a yokai. Even tho the turtles only went to the hidden world occasionally times, they have no idea Hell exist in another dimension as for Raph met the young owl before he dated her.

He might ask Via to tell them herself and her family.
