What a crazy year! I graduated virtually; but still got my degree in Data Science & Computer Programming. I planned a destination wedding; but still got married here in NC in spite of COVID. I lost a lot of loved ones too soon; but still find ways to appreciate the people that are here now... new friendships and old. 2021 is our year. And every year after as long as we make it happen. I'm ready to put the elbow grease on this polish in order to shine this year... I'm praying that all my loved ones are too. We're still here because we're supposed to do something. DO THAT SOMETHING NOW. If you complete that task and you're still here... you're meant to do something else too. Keep growing, loving, living, learning, and nurturing. Keep BEING. Stay present and focused on your future. Because that's how you survive a year like this one. I'm proud of us all. Proud because, in the face of adversity, we found love, hope, peace, joy, and strength in each other. Anyone who truly knows me will tell you that Tarik Trotter aka @blackthought is an orator and scribe who I admired years before his Grammy with @theroots and gig on @fallontonight. He embodies my definition for a master of ceremony. He’s also about to turn 47 and is still capable of lapping 98% of today’s rappers old and new (see Funk Flex freestyle).
