Hiya! Answering publicly on the off chance that anyone else was wondering about this... I thought I had updated the original post about this, but apparently I didn’t. Derp.
ANYWAY! As it turned out, the basegame version of the hacked autonomous-abduction-whenever-the-Sim-wants telescope...didn’t need fixing. It wasn’t set to allow children to try to be abducted like the Freetime version was, which is what caused the issue with it, so you should be good to go. :) So far as I know, there are no issues with the basegame version.

Ok thanks to your amazing game, I've restarted on my Regency neighborhood. I'm wondering if you have any hair recommendations. I've looked through some of Hat's stuff but I'm wondering if you have some fave go to hairs or places you get your hairs from. <3

I do use a lot of Hat’s hairs too! She is wonderful.
I also love Silverbelle’s hairs, she does a lot of period hair recolours!
@winterinverona has done some beautiful hairs at PBK, so has Meshy and @hegetsims2 - their barber shop section has a lot of good finds that go under the radar. Maya40 posted a bunch of hair accessories there too - add ons like buns and braids, which make styles look more unique.
@lochlander has also done some beautiful hairs!
And I also always scour http://www.mybsims.net/, they do a lot of conversions but the textures aren’t always to my taste :)

Hi, again! ;) Yup, answering publicly again. :)
There’s a link to those paintless Castaway defaults in this post here: http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=574492 Just scroll down a bit; they’re in the “recommended downloads” list. I think they’re meant to default the TS2 conversions of those outfits, since the post in question is a for-TS2 recreation of Castaway’s Felicity Island, but they work in Castaway itself, too, so the GUIDs and stuff must be the same. :)

I don’t know. Malcolm doesn’t actually have a lot of friends in Bluewater. He has a lot of customers, but he’s spent the majority of his time outside of work getting to know Abby. I don’t know that anyone in town will feel strongly enough about this to write a Letter to the Editor. (How sad is that?)

I think Abby probably had most of the article written up beforehand. She had to do some fact checking (hence the autobiography) and she needed the quotes from Malcolm, but the rest could be written and saved until she could fill in the blanks. She also had Mr. Fleming the lawyer as a source (as revealed in today’s post). This whole thing has been cooking for a while.

Poor, poor Malcolm indeed. He needs a hug, poor guy! I’d promise that it’ll all work out for him in the end, but I honestly don’t know that. I haven’t planned or played past this round. I do prefer happy endings, though, so I suspect things will get better eventually.

It wasn’t Checo, although I’d like to get him abducted at some point too. We’ll see what’s in his random generator this round.
I think the house in the background there was actually Malcolm’s house (although he wasn’t the lucky abductee either; that could be fun), but that wouldn’t have given you much of a clue. The Delarosa, Tinker, Ramirez, and Larson houses are all across the street from the Manor, although you’d have a time seeing it from the Larson house.
