Grenadine - a type of apple, but also a pomegranate syrup used in drinks! like shirley temples. with the pinky/red coloring i thought it was perfect!

Tarte Tatin - a pastry that originates in france where you caramelize the fruit in butter and sugar before its baked! it's usually made with apples- basically its like an upside down apple tart and with what a sweetie Tarte is and her bright coloring i figured it fit!

Streusel Spice - a mixture of brown sugar, cinnamon, melted butter and flour that's used in a lot of recipes! it's a bit like a crumble! it goes well with his markings and overall vibe.

i tried to make each name be apple related while still retaining that like, fancier vibe that rarity has

Introducing Applejack's and Rarity' daughter, Violet Bloom

Age: 19

Family: Applejack (mother), Rarity (mother), Crimson Cortland (brother)

Nicknames: Violet, Vi

Cutiemark: a canvas with a painting of a violet flower

Occupation: Painter

Facts:

- She has strong unicorn genes from Rarity and it shows in her tail and her height.

- She has an older brother named Crimson Cortland with who has a great relationship with.

-She and her family live in a house near the Apple farm, Rarity and Applejack didn't want to live on the farm as it wasn't big enough for Big Mac's family and theirs, and they also wanted to live independently from the apple family while still being close and having applejack working there for the family business, so they bought a big house close to the farm so their children could still live a farm life while not having to base their entire lives on the apple family.

-She got her cutiemark while helping her mother design some outfits for a big gala

-She works as a freelance painter and is trying to start her own business, Rarity's image helps her get a lot of visibility and she is very thankful for that but she wants to succeed because of her own work and talent.

Age in relation to Flurry Heart: about 2 years younger

Brief Backstory:

-Has dyslexia and had trouble in school as a result. Was given provisions and lessons by Cheerilee, but still has trouble reading as an adult

-Has no problems with spoken language and maths.

-Was aggressive as a kid, and didn’t take bullies lightly. Often comes across as cold as an adult due to her wanting to protect those closest to her

-Deathly afraid of injuring others too badly after a schoolyard scrap she did to get back her younger brother, Calvados’s stuffed lizard. Calvados was scared of her as a result, and her mother Rarity was disappointed with her choice of attacking rather than seeking assistance

-uses a text-to-speech converter for important documents today, and also uses a speech-to-text converter to aid in writing

-Helped Nightshade discover her magical boosting talent when Nightshade and her were hanging out together and Caramel could easily shatter rocks under her hooves

-She is paid by Celestia when on “official bodyguard duty” for other royals, but refuses to be paid for assisting Nightshade

-Occasionally goes back home for apple harvest season

Brief Backstory (content warning, some mention of bullying and violence)

-When he was a kid he loved lizards, and had many plush toys of them in his room

-he would chatter about them whenever someone gave him more than a few seconds to talk

-the day Caramel Apple got suspended was the day he took his favourite plush lizard to school for show and tell (I imagine he was around 5 at the time) and some bullies took the toy off him. Caramel beat them after getting the toy back, damaging Calvados’ and Caramel Apple’s relationship permanently

-even though Calvados went to therapy to try and process the incident, he no longer likes lizards, and actually panics if others try and get him back into them (he can handle seeing a lizard, but the moment people try and talk in-depth or give him a plushie or one to hold he freezes up)

-now he can’t stand to be around Caramel Apple when she shows signs of irritability (can handle small conversations about work or simple things, but dodges emotional conversations at all costs)

-after the incident, Calvados was given a handheld game console by his Aunt Scootaloo (she is in a relationship with Sweetie Belle) to help distract him

-videogames are his out from reality when things become too overwhelming, and he will happily talk about strategies to beat certain enemies

-he particularly likes turn-based combat in games, and it helps him come to terms with violence and injury (after the incident) he cannot handle realistic combat however, or excessive gore

-hangs out with Frosted Shake, occasionally Neapolitan, and other assorted “punk dudes” (aka unmade original characters)

-gained his cutie mark at an adult party where he sloshed some spirits into a glass and handed it to Frosted Shake. Even though it wasn’t as fancy as her typical drinks (she focuses more on cocktails) she still enjoyed the drink

A little character study on my character, Caramel Apple (rarijack kid)

Content Warning for talk of trauma, violent behaviour, and severe physical trauma under the cut, as well as intrusive thoughts.

Far left Caramel with the wavy hair & middle with wavy hair:

-Caramel Apple actually has very textured wavy hair, but has been straightening it since she was younger.

-She straightened it because things used to get tangled in it and others made fun of her for it (e.g. a pen, or some leaves. She never tied her hair back properly to keep stuff out of it because she hated the feeling of it being tied back. Only put up with ponytails after straightening

Bottom Left, talking to her mum and ma (Rarity and Applejack):

-I imagine she has a strained relationship with Applejack and Rarity due to pursuing a career they worry for her in (being a bodyguard for hire for the canterlot elite)

-Also has trouble coming to terms with her mum, Rarity, being opposed to violent behaviour (she will do it if she has to, but has stressed to Caramel in the past that there is a limit to violence that should not be crossed)

-Rarity was the first to witness Caramel Apple scrapping in the school yard, and had to come to terms with the fact Caramel had broken other kids bones (some of whom had not been involved with the initial incident)

-this childhood incident was the result of Calvados’s (her younger brother) stuffed toy being stolen and him being taunted. For some reason, after getting the toy away from the bullies, she decided to attack them when their backs were turned.

-Applejack told her this behaviour was unacceptable as well, and during Caramel’s suspension, Applejack set her to hard farm work to get out her aggression

-this worked, and by the end of the week she had started crying and went to apologise to the kids she’d attacked (they were also punished for the theft of the toy, but not as severely as they had not begun the physical fight)

-although her apologies were accepted, she remained isolated from the other students at school, before eventually transferring back to home schooling

-caramel sometimes has periods where she remembers what she did to the students at her school and becomes near-catatonic

-because she went into bodyguard work these memories often get intermingled with her childhood ones

-she most likely has PTSD
