Getting two pet rats, tell me anything i need to know :p
HELP
I have two beautiful boy rats who need a home! I will, very soon, be unable to continue to house them and I would really love to see them with someone who knows everything about owning a rat. If you live in NY or in NJ (preferably lower NY/ north Jersey) and would love these two angels please let me know!
Their names are Wolf and Bear, they are around a year and a half old now, and they are the absolute sweetest (very mild mannered). Their last vet visit was a month ago and they're healthy and going strong.
pls dm for more info ❤️
🍭🍦Marshmallow's Sweethearts🍫🍩

Standard Ear, Standard Fur
16 Pups - 6 Males, 10 Females
Momma Marshmallow will also be available for adoption, pictures of her will be added soon.

This litter is the sweeeeeetest, seriously. 😍 These pictures were taken last weekend so new ones will be uploaded soon. Almost every single baby is comfortable with laying/sleeping on their backs in my hand. It's the cutest and I truly hope you enjoy these pictures. 💗
Doing some fostering for Mom and babies! They are too sweet 😭 I love playing with babies and seeing them popcorn. Such bouncy fun things!!!!!!
There are 200+ rats available for adoption through Central Texas Rat Rescue - so if you’re in the area (Texas - specifically central Texas/North Austin) and can foster or are interested in adopting, please please please hit them up!
If you’re interested in donating money, supplies, or especially cages rn, you can find them on Facebook or I can put you in contact with them!!!!
The 200 rats are from a hoarding situation in San Antonio. The woman who runs CTRR is an absolute sweet heart I have never met a kinder person tbh.
P.S. - this particular cage is not suited for long term habitation. This is only temporary as CTRR is running a bit short on cages.
looking to adopt male rats in Sheffield or Newcastle area
England -
One of my housemate’s male rats sadly passed away recently leaving his brother alone. We are looking to adopt one or two male rats to keep him company.
We live in Sheffield but could adopt from anywhere between there and Newcastle and their surrounding areas. If you are interested or have any information please message me or @thewillofalbusdumbledore
Please spread this so we can find our lad some friends!
Little Rolo is on the lookout for his forever family🔭😍😭
He is available for adoption with his two 7 week old brothers (Snickers & Butterfinger, pictured in a previous post). They are a bonded trio and must be adopted together. Our rescue is located in King George, VA🐀
📣 Adoption fees are 50% off (this week only)!
💕We are celebrating Mother's Day in the best way! We are cutting adoption fees in half for all babies that are picked up this week. Check out the lineup because there are a ton of adorable faces waiting to meet you😍👇🏻
🐀Millie - Approximately 8 months old (she has been with us for 3 months now). She was the first rescue momma we took in after starting back up as a rescue. She came to us the day before she gave birth. She has been available for adoption for over a month now and she keeps getting stood up. 😔 She is such a sweetheart and has intro'd well with all other females (ranging from 3 months old to 7 months old) in our home. This week only adoption fee - $8
🌼Coreopsis & Geranium (Corey & Jerry) - Approximately 2 months old. Corey loves to play & Jerry loves to snuggle (he bruxes & boggles when given a good scritch). They are a bonded pair from our last rescue litter and must be adopted together. This week only adoption fee - $17 for the pair
🍭Marshmallow's Sweethearts - These babies are 5 & 1/2 weeks old and almost everyone has been cleared to go to their new homes! They are fully weaned, properly socialized, maintaining their weights, and happy as can be. (Two pups are not yet available and are marked as such on the pictures. One male was our little runt so he is staying back to receive some extra TLC and one female is recovering from an injury.) This week only adoption fee - $10 per rat (must be adopted in groups of 2 or more)
Let us know if you have any questions and feel free to reach out at anytime to schedule a pickup. Local meetup in King George, VA. Further discounts may apply for large group adoptions.
SWEET RATS!! Hoping to Partner — Intake of 15 Rats Needing Rescue/Adoption, Hagerstown MD
I’m reaching out from the Humane Society of Washington County about several rats currently in our care who are in need of placement.
We initially took in two male rats, David and Goliath, after their owner developed allergies and could no longer keep them. Both boys appear healthy and have been active and curious during their time with us. Goliath is a bit more reserved and does not enjoy being handled, though he is comfortable being around people. We suspect he may not have had much early socialization. David tolerates handling well but does have some dental misalignment that may require monitoring. We believe they would do best in an experienced home that understands rat behavior and can respect their boundaries while allowing them to build confidence at their own pace.
In addition to David and Goliath, we are taking in another group of 13 rats, two adults and 11 babies, from an accidental litter. The owner had believed they had two rats of the same gender, which unfortunately was not the case. This sudden intake has significantly increased our small animal population.
At this time, our shelter does not have the space or the adoption demand to properly support this many rats long-term. We are very hopeful to find placement opportunities where they can receive the space, enrichment, and continued care they deserve.
If your organization may be able to assist with any of these rats, we would be happy to provide additional information, medical records, and coordinate transport through our volunteer network.
Thank you for all that you do for small animals. We truly appreciate your time and consideration and hope to speak with you soon.
Best regards,
