And now for a gem with a base of my own design! I gotta say, tracing bases has really helped me get a better sense of anatomy, but I won't ramble on about that too much
Anyway, this is Ratcatcher (the first one!). She's a Moldavite with the unique ability to communicate and command rats.
She worked as a sanitation worker in the sewer until one night, while she was at a bar with her coworkers a brawl broke out.
In the chaos, someone pulled out a knife and in self defense, she grabbed it and ended up shattering some stranger. In the trial after the fact, a witness falsely testified that Moldavite was the one that pulled out the knife, and thus she was sent to Blackgate for ten years.
Eventually she got out and sought her revenge on the gems who abandoned her and let her get put away. She locked them in cells that she made herself in the sewers, torturing them by having her rats bite them until they lost their physical forms, and eventually shattering them.
Moldavite would make a living as a solo criminal for years in the sewer until Killer Croc came along and took over the sewer from herself, forcing her to live with the other C Listers until she can find a way to get back her territory.
Right now she's acting as a mentor to Ratcatcher 2, though I'll get a bit more into her when I get around to drawing her.
